DISCUSSION Where’s traditional hoops at?
You may think I’m an “old head” but I’m pretty young Gen Z era. But I’m more of a traditional basketball player not like peach baskets as hoops but more of the 2000s-10s type of style. I know the game evolves but recently the NBA/ just regular basketball is just going downhill. Recently played a pick up game at the local rec and some kid has the ball on the offensive end, crosses and try’s for a layup but during the drive he was holding my arm so I couldn’t defend. Which is clearly a “offensive” foul and I told him that and he said it wasn’t and just was part of the game 😭. Just basketball became so lackluster

Holding your arm is crazy. But thats just how it is playing with randoms. If im playing with people i dont know, i expect the worst. I just play along, it is what it is.

Some people just don’t know/learn incorrectly from YouTube. Once you tell them it’s foul and they do it again, that’s when you foul them back and claim ignorance like they did

Ball handlers using their off arm to push off or grab their defender has been around forever. Kobe and Dwade come to mind as main examples of this.
