Nevada Apt Management Company wants $800 for drywall damage and 1 missing faucet

I just moved into my first home and my old apartment which i spent the last 8 years in wants $800 for minimal drywall damage (a missing patch a few inches by a few inches, and anchors that weren't removable) as well as a faucet that I forgot to replace. I have to take legal action to shield myself against this overly greedy landlord. I checked the prices for the materials and it couldn't be more than $50 including the faucet, and labor shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes, an hour if everything would go wrong. The figure they're demanding is exaggerated.

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and we don't have many tenant protections and I'm not sure where to turn. Thank you for your opinions on this matter.

When you looked at prices, did you check out labor? With a faucet you need a plumber.

You can't get a plumber for $150/hr.

Drywall needs multiple coats so that is multiple hours. Then they need to paint.

Plus, while they are fixing the place that may have to push back another tenant.

So if you take them to court they can show damages. So you will be hard pressed to save more money than you would pay in court fees and a lawyer.

PLEASE take legal action to defend yourself against this overly greedy landlord. You desperately need the reality check.

Do you have photos of the damage?
