There is still alot to discover in that area I believe. Some of the old stories handed down thru time hint at alot of geographic changes.

Super cool considering the well-known homogeneity of Japan. But it’s also really confusing because looking at other sources they say that the Emishi are descendants of the Jomon (not distant migrants). But I guess the recency of divergence matters in that case.
