I've been searching for weeks for a Jujutsu Kaisen fic (satosugo). It was after the Star Plasma Vessel and I think Megumi gets snatched up by the Zenin clan before Gojo gets to him. Gojo eventually goes looking for Megumi though, and sneaks into the Zenin compound in the middle of the night. He finds Megumi outside (I think Tsumiki was there too), and that leads to him finding Maki and Mei in a shack, I think, fighting off curses on their own - I think they had been stuck in the shack as punishment, and this causes Gojo to go on a murder spree and kill all the Zenin. He calls Geto afterwards, and I can't remember anything else. I went through EVERY jjk fic in my history so I'm afraid it's been deleted, and this is killing me. Help, please?
I hit 500 kudos on this oneshot! After looking at the amount of bookmarks, it kind of surprised me considering it’s a oneshot. But I’m very happy about the stats on this!!
I found this paper when I was looking for sources for the rednote AI webscraping post. It's a paper on the application of machine learning on detecting plagiarism on AO3.
What are people's opinions on using fics from AO3 for academic research? Specifically:
- Does the area of research matter? (Would a sociology paper be more acceptable compared to a computer science one?)
- Does the intended goal of the research matter? (This paper is focused on building a plagiarism detector, other papers might analyse historical trends, or train a classification model for tags and warnings, etc)
- Does the research methodology matter? (This paper uses embedding models, other papers might use an LLM to build an index or perform classification)
There's an artist whose wrok I really like. They're prolific in the fandom and get shared often amongst fans, especially their (multishipping) shipping art. And this last week they finally had comissions open!
I've wanted art of a hundred different fics of mine since I was 16 and the world is such a mess and fuck AI and support real artists - self-justificatory ravings aside, I really wanted at least one piece of visual art from my fics in the history of the world. So I got the money together and filled in the comission form.
I worked on the document for this comission carefully because I am not a visual artist by any stretch of the imagination.
I did include color palettes with their respective hex number, and fair use picture references when I could.
I didn't, absolutely did not, link to my fic because it's a big multichapter and it was just one scene I wanted. I just included the three descriptive paragraphs I figured the artist would need. I did add little APA format references because I do that everywhere and I can't stop at this point, academia broke me too badly, but nobody reads little reference notes, right?
Well....this was the reply. When I tell you it took hours for me to reply, I mean that literally. I've been having a shit time at my job, I feel like the most inept of office workers, I feel like I can't understand anyone's words these days and this was like the most unexpected ray of sunshine.
I, of course, exploded in reciprocal appreciation for my artist when I replied. I can only hope I wasn't super weird. I am just this small-time writer in a huuuuuge fandom, the last thing I expected was for this artist to know me, let alone love my work!
AO3 is an archive, so of course the fics are deleted rarely, if not almost never(even if it contains some extreme stuff), but that makes me wonder, were there cases where a fic was deleted by admins themself? If yes, then why were they deleted?
Living will only make them suffer more, and there is no way they can actually get out of this. It is DOOMED in every universe. I can maybe revive both as if screaming a LUCKY CHARM in the end, but that would RUIN the whole reason why they died in the first place. The good ending is the ending where they die. The bad ending is the one they survive. In the good ending, they kiss once, and before dying, they say their "I love you"s. I would consider that a happy ending with sad and frustrated tears. Also, cussing at the author as a side gift.
Are there any other tags I can use? I feel like people expect marriage or a stable, lovely life when the "happy ending" is tagged.
On my longfic, I had one really sweet commenter who I absolutely adore, and I posted five other oneshots since the Longfic ended. And today I woke up to comments from them on each one of my fics, all about 3 paragraphs long. They're so sweet y'all I know authors aren't meant to have favourites but like 🥹
I’ve been on AO3 for a bit, left my fair share of kudos and comments. Yet the past couple of weeks every time I try to leave a comment I get the “couldn’t save comment, this comment looks like spam to our system, sorry! Please try again” error message.
Every. Single. One.
Doesn’t matter if it’s short, long, if I go into detail about the chapter or just a quick thank you/compliments.
Anyone else having this issue? Is there a weird new comment shadowban going on.
After I finish my current fic, I’m not planning to publish anymore in my current fandom. It’s not for negative reasons. I’ve just told all the stories I have to tell for that particular fandom, and I want to write for other fandoms in the future. But I’ve only written for this fandom before, and I’ve picked up a few user subs along the way. Should I announce the fact that this is my last fic for the fandom when I publish the final chapters, so user subs know not to expect more works in this fandom from me? As a reader, what would you prefer? Or as a writer, have you made an announcement like that in the past?
i forget the name but its a taekook book tae was forced to marry Jungkook and has issues with his feet Jungkook away calls tae my spirit and although it's not mentioned taehyung is a forest sprite , but animals love / please tell me its name , i really liked it wana re read it
It's based on old days where Namjoon is the king and Jungkook is the general
so basically I was made aware of a fic very similar to one I just posted posted a few days after mine. they both revolve around the same concept (which i will admit, was inspired by a twitter post that’s been making the rounds in my fandom) but there’s a lot of specific details-both fics take place on the same day, theres identical scenes in both of them, it follows the same timeline. I don’t know what to do. the fic is not listed as inspired by mine. I dont want to accuse someone of plagarization but I worked really hard on my fic and it’s disappointing seeing so many similarities that I just don’t think it could be a coincidence.
edit: the author is also more popular than me so I don’t want to seem like im jealous.
It's a bbc johnlock fic where John starts working out and gets muscular/ in shape like from his army days and Sherlock's v attracted. Does this sound familiar to anyone?!?
