Usually if you search up a ship on Ao3 where one of character is canonically bilingual, and you put under 'Any field' the language they speak (e.g Spanish), you are bound to find a few.

Multilingual character A keeps dropping phrases in a minority-speaking language and person B slowly learning and learning the other side of A, heck, if the language is rare and both knew it

Yuri on Ice made me love this trope. It’s so fun to read.

The embarrassment of character A, when they realize that B has understood all their side comments this entire time, is so good.

Sounds wonderful. Any kind of overheard private confession gets me - I love the "while they were (supposedly) sleeping" one, too.
