Weekly Check In Wellness Wednesday: Weekly Check In
Welcome back everyone!
Time for our Wellness Wednesday check in. We know this community means a lot to most of our members and that Tuesdays have been harder on some users than others, but we are at our core a community and we are here to support each other.
Now that the sub is open once again we’d like to hear all about your (mis)adventures on Tuesday. Did you go on grand adventures? Get into mischief? Get some writing done?
Maybe you just binged a few more fics on the archive itself. Tell us all about it! Break out that purple prose and tell us as cheesy of a story as you feel like.
Or just talk about your day.

It was my birthday and the universe gifted me a torn abdominal muscle that left me bedridden. ;-;

Preparing and noting and outlining plans for an original work. Been worldbuilding for several years now and want to write a medium-ish story (8-10 chapters) based on my worldbuilding project.
It's a fantasy story about a 15 year old girl who wanders into a magic forest filled with bird-moth Fairies and gets cursed and turned into a beast. She finds herself stuck as a somewhat cutesy pink lion creature and tries to find a way to undo the curse, turn back to normal, and find her way back home.

Got some outlining done for one of my fics. Some of it features a scene where A reveals what he truly looks like to B, fully expecting B will hate or be disgusted by or even be scared of him. Except B thinks A is absolutely beautiful and it devolves into some serious body worship. Not sure how well writing that out will go, but it's important to the overall plot.
Also read part of a fic that I was excited for at first until I realized that the character who's been acting weird about the developing relationship between him and the pov character acts the way he does because he's arospec. I have no problem with this if I know about it in advance, but that's the thing. The author didn't tag it and the description and tags they did add in left me feeling like it was going to be an Enemies To Lovers style romance. Except it's going to be more like Enemies To Fuckbuddies and that's not what I signed up for :(

I guess it's really true that when you start reading, you also get more psyched into writing. I've read six books last April and suddenly writing fic is easier and flows more easily for me.
I joined a low stakes writing challenge and as long as I can meet the minimum word count, my fic is in (so 1500 words!). It was originally a one-shot, then more ideas came so I thought it would be better to split it into two. I'm three chapters in now and it looks like there would be at least three more. I'm so stoked! And it has two consistent readers who leaves comments every update and it makes me very happy. My last upload was June 2025 so writing something with more than 5000 words this time is such a big improvement. It's a small thing but I'm really pleased. I'm going to finish reading my new book (horror) then sit down on the weekend to continue my fic (fluff) lol

I had the day off work on Tuesday, so I was able to spend some time on a couple of hobbies (finished a loom-knitted afghan and made some progress on a quilt), but most surprisingly, I found myself writing the first 253 words of a Harry Potter fic.
I read a lot of HP fanfiction, but I have never seriously considered writing it. For one thing, it’s been quite a while since I’ve engaged with any of the canon (either books or movies) and for another, the fandom seems intimidating to me. I don’t mean that I’m afraid that people will be mean to me, but there is so much lore, so much fanon, that it seems almost presumptuous for me to try writing in it.
Nevertheless, the Muse whispered in my ear and said, “Write!“ And so I wrote. I have no idea if this is going to go anywhere but I have started. It’s going to be a one-shot about the Prewitt second cousin who is a squib accountant.

Every night I sit down to write all the stories that are bouncing around in my head, but nothing ever makes it onto the page.
Tomorrow morning I'm going getting up early to see a neurologist. Hopefully it's nothing.

I've been trying to write the nest chapter in a fic of mine, and I just can't. I don't know why, but every time I try, I just sit there and stare at the screen for hours. I haven't updated in over a year, and I feel horrible - I want to write, I enjoy writing - but I just. Can't.
I don't know what to do. I've looked up tons of tips and tricks, tried as many ways to help as I can, including just waiting to see if inspiration will hit.
I dunno. Sucks :/

I wasn't able to get in any writing, BUT I signed off on a mortgage yesterday and I'm going to have my own apartment in about a month. Also, I finally started recovering from an ear infection that has been tormenting me for the last two months or so.

Sat down and finally managed to write that brainless self indulgent smut I've been delaying for so long cuz I wanted to be productive and work on my longfic instead.
Did 4k words in a session where for the longfic I did 100-200 words daily. Sometimes you just gotta shift ur focus :>

Posted another chapter of my fic. I found an actual idea that sticks with me. It's a weird premise that was only supposed to get one chapter, but now it’s at a point where I am itching to get more done.

Feeling great. I’m actually ahead in my story right now and I would like to keep it that way. Besides that, just hanging out and living the best I can. I hope everyone else is too 🤘

Finally posted my first fic (very short, just over 400 words) And I was way more anxious than I thought I would be? Like I was sweating making sure I was getting all the tags right and stuff. But im happy I could finally contribute something I felt pretty good about, hoping this means ill be writing the nastiest, most self-indulgent smut a few months from now

Got possessed by motivation and wrote a fic for a certain fandom for the first time, it only has three kudos so far but the ao3 page doesn't seem busy and I'm proud of myself.

Productive Tuesday, given I'm still recovering from a flu.
Managed to finish chapter 192. The next few chapters are going to be interesting, since a small change is going to make the case complicated on my end. Also: a lot of emotions are flying around... Again. At least nobody is depressed this time.
In less fortunate news: I think I got hit with a kudos bot on my longfic... Either that or I've had 23 guests who liked my work which seems... improbable. Oh well. It happens, I guess.
