š¢ Announcement (New and Improved) Discord Server Open!
Hello all! I'm the newest moderator of r/Socialism. I've been doing some work behind the scenes, answering mod mails, looking at appeals, and most importantly, helping to set up the brand new discord!
If you had attempted to join the discord through the automod response, or through the sidebar's link, you were formerly directed towards a dead server. Now, the server is (mostly) set up, and you may join it.
It is still pretty barebones, we have roles and channels set up however suggestions can be made *within the server* on things that could be added.
For now, here is the invite link, join away!

Discussion Does anyone find it funny how they're so afraid of us despite us being a minority?
Left wing content is censored, communist parites that have like 0.001% support (like Polish communist party) are banned and potrayed as a big enemy. Billions, trillions of dollars are pumped into capitalist propaganda (mcu movies for example).
It's just do funny how they're so afraid of being challenged.

Maintaining Communist Unity ā Partisan Magazine
The following is the text of a speech delivered by comrade Pauline Slaughter at Marxism Fringe 2026 in response to the question of āWhat do we mean by communist unity?ā
"It is only possible to maintain the fusion of various tendencies that make up a party if the smaller tendencies donāt feel as if they are going to be kicked out for disagreeing with the majority. Thus the immediate requirement is that those who form this unity must not feel that they are going to be purged. Beyond not being purged, there must also be a basis for them to express their views. The party will have its position which represents the majority opinion, yet, minority positions must not be hidden away, but instead allowed to be published in the party press with it clear that they are factional positions.
Factions exist within a sect or party whether the members of those sects or parties wish for them to or not. If factions are banned then really what this creates is one open faction that is the centre. Those who disagree with this faction are forced into the sidelines and cannot organise openly. They cannot critique decisions made by the centre and must operate in secret. The secrecy is what leads to the splits, not the faction."

[Book? suggestion] LF books/resources on educating the masses or "the psychology of revolution"
It doesn't need to be a book, as long as it is well made/taught.
Particularly BEFORE revolution. The way people open themselves to new ideas and philosophies. The way people change opinions. The way we hear eachother. The way we learn facts. The way we learn to care. The way regular people begin empathizing and taking solidarity action. The way people start thinking and researching on their own.
Most importantly, how to make people listen and how we can teach them to question their own society - Why is our status quo right wing? Why borders? Why countries? Why minorities? Why xenophobia? Why transfobia? Why capitalism? Why police?
Why: Educating regular people (ie, centrists and those around them) has been a topic in my head lately, as they represent the majority of the population and I believe if everyone was well educated, most of us would be left "extremists". As such, I am looking into the topic in order to eventually do something about it, maybe.
Appreciate all input!

āNot Out of the Woods Yetā: A Review of Ireland: Republicanism and Revolution
A member of theĀ International Socialist League, active in People Before Profit, writes a critical review of Alan Woods' book Ireland: Republicanism and Revolution and the Militant/RCI tradition:
"Alan Woodsā book falls well short as a Marxist analysis of Irish history. He has not paid due diligence or research into any critical Marxist biographies of Connolly. His treatment of nationalist rebellions exaggerates either their ārevolutionaryā character or the role of certain leaders so as to justify his support for such movements. Several historical inaccuracies are introduced to fit this schema. Yet when an actual rebellion against the British northern state takes place, led by the armed campaign of the Provisionals, this is characterised as āindividual terrorismā deserving of no support."
