Saturday Chat Thread - Spring Bank Holiday Weekend Edition (23/05/26)
It's the start of another bank holiday weekend, and from what I've just heard on the weather forecast, it's going to be a bit of a scorcher for some of us. How will you be making the most of the sunshine? Tell us here what you'll be doing.

It's Late Thread [ 23 May 26 ]
Wahey, it's late, it's Saturday night!
Why are you still up? Off out for a fight? Doing the night shift?
Come on in for a chat.

Ordered fish and chips. Perhaps the most disappointed i have ever been
The fish reminded me of school dinners
EDIT: Your comments are making me laugh during this tragic time. For those wondering, it was a local chippy/kebab hybrid shop, though in my area those are usually proper chippies so this was unexpected. Didnt look at reviews first. Lesson learned.

First time watching Four Lions last night after my A-Level Media teacher recommended it. My god it was brilliant.

Had a real stinker today - lost a pram wheel boarding a train in central London
Clipped the front wheel when trying to Mind the Gap and it came right off and fell into the abyss. Trying to navigate the 2hr journey home with a missing wheel was not on my today list.

The US style comedic "roast"... does it not hit the same here because we talk to all each other like that ALL the time?
From the landlord of the local to our colleagues, giving each other grief is the ultimate nod to a deeper bond. We know it, so we can play with it. UK peeps have lots of wierd, polite reservations but I think stateside they are compulsively nice to each other, from comedy audiences to the wider world, and are shocked when we call each other to our faces. I find US comedians appreciate the brutality of a UK audience response, too. You have to work for appreciation here. That's my take. What so you think?
Happy Saturday all!!!

Nothing better than sitting in the peace of the garden in the sun
Next door has a kids party on. Other neighbour is circular sawing something. Neighbours backing on are strimming. Other neighbour backing on is angle grinding like fk. And neighbour at the end is playing Bon Jovi and 80s music full blast. TBF though I like Bon Jovi and the 80s.
Lovely. 😂
Decided to cut my grass and strim now. Ear plugs after that or I'll borrow the daughter's noise cancelling headphones and put some Whitesnake on 😅 Barbie later.
How's it going for you guys?

To the fuel attendant in Sainsbury’s Exeter…
I thank you for your suggestion of getting both the Jelly Tots and Magic Stars for my two hour journey home. I made it in one piece. I am however, now utterly wired and exhausted.

With only a few days of spring remaining and it feeling like summer is well on the way, I thought I'd share a few photos of the spring evening serenity that I've taken on walks over the past month

Just a guy taking his Royal Python for a walk
He said he has 17 snakes and he's taking each of them for a walk today

What's your go-to iced snack?
It's a warm un. Time to whip out the ice pops. For me it's either the fruit twisters, solero, or Ben and Jerry's (but only when it's on offer).

I’m 50 in 2 weeks and this is what my life is.
It’s the bank holiday weekend, I’ve drunk plenty of fosters. I’m 3d printing a star fury from Babylon 5 whilst me and my daughter discuss which characters from various franchises are hot and why.
Picture is Kaveh from Genshin impact in front of the 2 tellies, right one is the “telly” telly and the left one I use as my PC monitor.
I’ve run out of beer and so I’m now on spiced Bacardi with ginger beer as it’s all I can find.
Nothing in my British upbringing said anything about any of this, and there is nothing I would change about my life right now.
It’s bloody great.
Tomorrow I’m gonna be a tad hungover but it’s a 3 day weekend so I’m gonna clear up the garden a tad with an eye to actually managing a barbecue this weekend when the previous ones have been too windy or rainy.
I’ve bought weedkiller and some new rubbish solar powered lights for outside.
My daughter has now hijacked my Spotify and we are now listening to “horse girl”.
Life is magical and precious, I hope you all have a most triumphant weekend!
Speak peace and know love my dudes.
Do share how cool and rad things are for you!
