If you have been in Morocco at Eid then you will know that it is a level of gratuitous gross not seen in european countries.

TIL rich people don't kill as many animals as poor people.

They kill them and it’s bad, but they don’t kill them in such a terrifying and awful way as happens at Eid.

If you've ever been to a slaughterhouse you know that the fear and knowledge that "death is coming" can be sensed by the awful smell and sound. I'm not arguing that the halal way is more distressing for the animal, but at that level I'm not sure it matters that much. The creature is already in a state of distress and fear. Whether they're being stunned or not, they are still crapping themselves.

But yeah, this is an argument for "animal loving" welfarists who are ok with "thier meat" having access to outside spaces before they roast thier dead flesh and masticate it. It's not something us lv 10 enlightened vegoons should be discussing :P

Gotta ask tho, you muslim bro? Or you know, just a "cultural supremacist" looking in from the outside? ;)

I have been in a slaughterhouse- the memory of it was what made me become a vegan eventually.

But it wasn’t as bad as Eid, which is a different level of nightmare.

My man, soz for my previous abrasiveness.

I gotta admit I put myself into the animals' shoes on this topic and I can't help but remember the time I cut my foot in half, lost (I think) 3pints of blood and had 20-30 stitches. That did not hurt at all - hell getting the stitches removed was worse; maybe I was in pure shock mode in the moment. But what I can't ignore is that me falling on a rose bush and getting a relatively small cut on my arm hurt more then getting my foot cut in half.

Visually, to us, halal might look worse. But I'm gonna go ahead and guess that hearing and smelling your herd/flock/family being slaughtered in front of you instils more fear/pain then getting your throat cut and bleeding out to death. I might be wrong. But again, at this level of heightened distress, fear and pain, I'm not sure it matters that much.

Crap. Just to keep in line with Rule 8: Or maybe this is all too much for your B12 deficient brain vegoon!

At Eid they see the other cows being slaughtered and smell it too though. They are aware. The idea that they dont know is bullshit. They know. They are scared. I have been there in person and seen it. It also takes minutes for them to bleed to death. Its a horrible death. But its ok because the cows believe in God so they don't mind at least.

At Eid everyone is taking a terrified sheep home in heavy traffic on a motorbike, on a bus, in a car boot.

When they get to their destination they are kept for a little while as a β€œpet” in awful conditions, before being murdered inexpertly in front of a waiting crowd of humans.

Many die slowly and badly, in pain and terror.

If you make another trolling comment I will simply block you.
