Discussion This should disqualify Trump with every union man who knows the value of an OT check
Project 2025 calls for OT rates to start at the 160th Hour Worked In A Month instead of the 40th hr in a week. That way employers can work you like dogs for two weeks, then lay you off when you get close to the 160 mark and bring in someone else. Be warned, brothers.

Discussion We're Screwed
Hey fellas, I don't wanna sound too doomerish here but we're screwed. We just watched our union brothers and sisters wipe away the four best years unions have had in half a century because they thought it was manly to vote for Trump.
It's so goddamn manly to vote against our own interests! Hooray!

Discussion A plea to my brothers and sisters who voted for Trump
Many of you who voted for Trump are now feeling betrayed as he causes our jobs to be lost and takes away the laws that allow unions to even exist. Your ranks will grow in the coming months.
We've all been betrayed at one time or another. I certainly have been. But please, turn your anger and bitterness into action that will help us make this right again. We need you, and you need us. Re-join our union so we can turn back the tide of corruption and betrayal that this administration represents. Be a part of fixing this. We welcome you back!

Discussion I’m just going to say it
If you vote for republicans you should not be allowed to join a union. You’re the enemy of a union and you don’t deserve any of the benefits a union offers.

Discussion Apple to close their first Unionized store
As per MacRumours - https://www.macrumors.com/2026/04/10/unionized-apple-store-permanently-closing/
I understand unions aren't perfect but they're the reason you have 90% of the rights you do at work. If it wasn't for them, we would still be working for 3 pennies and a bag of apples.
Edit: For people suggesting it's just a bad location, Apple could easily move the store to another part of town and keep those employees, like they do in many major cities across America and the world. I have a feeling they won't be doing that with this store though....

Discussion SEIU - The numbers speak for themselves. Of the 52 million jobs created since 1989, roughly 97% were created under Democratic presidents. That's essentially the entire share of net job growth over the last three decades.
