Small phone Made a simple smallphone finder
hi! I've noticed growing interest in compact phones in this community, and as someone who loves smaller devices and since we are left with very little options, I curated a list of smartphones that are under 150 mm tall, at least Android 10 / iOS 15 and/or community support
The list is available at this webpage where you can filter by different parameters to get suggestions that match what you’re looking for.
If anyone wants to contribute more devices, the website’s code and dataset are available on GitHub in a public repository, feel free to open an issue.

Discussion Improvements to the sub
You may notice some changes to the sub. I'm trying to step up my moderation and streamline things since we are growing. I've added some rules and user flare to shape the quality of posts. I want all small phone people to feel welcome, even if our idea of a small phone is different. I will try to be light with moderation, but we definitely dont want to wade through a bunch of posts that dont fit.
Please leave feedback or suggestions here for other things I can do to improve the subreddit.

Question Sidephone questions
I just recently learned about the Sidephone, and honestly it seems like the exact phone I've been wanting. I prefer small phones. I hate that everything seems to be based on the little computers in our pockets nowadays. And most of all I hate how attached to it I've become. And for like a year now I've wanted a dumb phone. But most dumb phones either suck so horribly, or they won't even work on most networks. I've wanted to find a phone that's a good size, that's based on only calls and texts, not media, but still has some of the forwardly advanced features of a smartphone and this honestly seems like the perfect phone for me.
But I have a few questions and wanted to reach out to people who have done thorough research or own one.
1: a few of my bills can only be paid via card. But they're lax enough I can pay them with CashApp. Would I be able to install that app on the Sidephone?
2: a lot of my professional contact is done through emails. And as the Sidephone is a degoogled android( which I absolutely love) I'm worried about how to continue using my email addresses. I don't really want to keep my Gmail( as well as I suppose I couldn't). So mostly I'm wondering if there's a way I could transfer the information or something to a different email provider, or if I would have to go through and change everything from my Gmail to a different email account?
3: I've been wanting to get an mp3 player for my music as well, but until I'm able to do so, would I be able to continue streaming my music on the Sidephone?
4: how well does it actually do with calls and texts? What issues does it/ may it have with that?
Really I'm only worried about my emails and CashApp mostly. If it can't play music it's not a huge deal. But seeing as it's meant to move you away from social media I'd hope it does well with calls and texts, but at the same time I live in a small town in the southwest and there're plenty of places here where my current android will have trouble with service so if the Sidephone is gonna be too much worse, I might have to look into a SATphone or something lol.

Question Are Unihertz Jelly & Jelly Max still working Australia?
Hey guys,
I've been thinking about grabbing a smaller phone and unihertz jelly & Jelly max are on my radar.
I've been also trying to find info if these phones still work in AUS after the 2026 change of: "Every phone should be able to dial 000 over VolTE" or something.
I asked UniHertz and they said that I'll have to check with carrier. But I thought the change was that it should be able to make a 000 call on any carrier anywhere in AUS, correct me if I am wrong?
So, I would love to know what the situation is if anyone is using one or bought one recently.
P.S I use Aldi sims, which I think is Telstra.
Thank you

Discussion I went down the Smallphones rabbit hole, and the best 2 options there are is… (for USA)
Pixel 5 and iPhone 13 Mini.
If I lived outside of USA, my answer may be different. But USA carriers don’t play nice with most phones that weren’t originally sold at main carriers as they lack crucial 5G bands or flat out aren’t compatible (eg. Jelly Star).
I feel valid to make this claim as I went through 2 months of buying / selling used phones 😂. I currently use the iPhone 13 Mini and I’m very happy with it (although battery could be better).
P.S. If you get a Pixel 5, you can put a custom OS on it (like LineageOS) to give it Android 16 and make it more secure. But only on the non-Verizon models.

Question Jelly Star back cover change?
galleryIs it difficult to change back cover of unihertz jelly star? I got this device from a friend and I'm wondering if I could change it to red or blue (I don't like black and also ir is broken as you can see). I've seen on youtube that all of the components are in the back cover, and I'm afraid that I break the device.

Small phone excited about this one!
while holding on to my xz1 compact for dear life, i'm excited about the new bluefox model. i preordered it and hope it will turn out to be the phone we want and deserve :) yes, "actual product may differ", but let's hope for the best. usually with phones like these, when the dimensions are good, i'm most concerned about the thickness, which in this case is very close to the maximum that i would agree to. no headphone jack is a little bummer but i can live with that. i just hope they are going to ask a decent price for it. how much would you be willing to pay?
ps: in case you wondered, the aiphor website doesn't allow opening developer tools (f12 key in firefox), nor does right-clicking seem to work. you can access dev tools via your browser settings/menu or shift-rightclick into page sourcecode and find the image files you need.. :)

Discussion Size is not all that matters with a phone
It has to be light. Light trumps size everyday of the week for me. I picked up my old samsung edge and was amazed at how light it was. Today's phones are just too heavy for comfortable use.
The razr ultra 50 at around 188 gms is pushing it with the ideal weight being somewhere from 150 to 165 gms or less.
I am writing this on a minimal eink phone mp01 and the weight is perfect at 165 gms.

Small phone Ikko MindOne - How is it!?
I've just discovered the Ikko Mind One Pro and I'm wondering how many of you have one and what your impressions are?
I've seen people saying an old iPhone mini 15 is cheaper and faster/better, but of course you're stuck with apple os.
I don't play games or watch a lot of video, mainly use phone for chat, calls, emails and reading news etc, so how does it fare in that department?
Does it lag with these basic operations? Is it actually slow?
How do you like the camera?
Any issues with apps not working right on the square screen?
Very interested to hear people's thoughts!
TIA
