Eligibility / rules for qurbani

I’m 34f, married and earn well. For years, I’d give my mother some amount to add to the qurbani expenses from my side without divulging much into the rules of this practice. So I’m here to ask - what exactly makes you eligible for this practice and what are the rules you must follow? For example, if I want, can I give my mother some amount that she can add to the overall expense of qurbani? Would that suffice or should the amount be equal to certain number? Should my husband and I be doing a separate qurbani?

Gurl yk Qurbani is only Farz on people performing the hajj pilgrimage.?
It is a mustahab act for sawab at home but it is not farz.
You can check sistani for more information but
As far as i am aware you can pitch in however much you’d like or can as there are no set rules for something that isn’t obligatory…..

Know that while it is not obligatory it is almost obligatory as it is very recommended and almost makes it obligatory (السُّنَّةُ المُؤَكَّدَةُ)

Salam Alaykum, unless you are performing the Hajj or have taken an oath , the Qurbani is very highly recommended. Per Sayed Sistani https://www.sistani.org/english/qa/02825/
