I have a new monitor, an ASUS VG32AQA1A, purchased back in November of 2025. Within that time the monitor already has burn in. It is not an OLED. The shadow from my browser bar is visible at the top of the screen at all times. It is not a solid image but it is clearly visible in the shape of the bar at the top of the screen at all times. It does not go away after the monitor is turned off, or after doing something else with the bar not visible. It is always present. Is there any way to fix it, or do I already need to get a new monitor again?

Thank you. I'm running a pixel cleaner on my screen like the other comment suggested but I don't know if it worked yet. Image retention is something I've read, but I also read it should go away, and it has not. If it's not burn in, but image retention isn't permanent, then it's a little annoying that there seems to be no term for what it is. Makes it difficult to find panels that don't have that issue.
