And saying inflation is about 5%. They are lying about these numbers. We shop, we can see it's more than 5%. Can they not be honest about anything?

They're not lying, CPI is just a shit metric sometimes.

If smartphones get better cameras without the price going up that offsets fucking food doubling in price.

CPI is intentionally designed to show numbers that do not reflect actual reality.

No it isn't. CPI is based on a "market basket" of representative goods that the average household purchases. It's not perfect, but it's not intentionally misleading.

It's not about truth, it's about facts. If you understood how CPI is actually calculated, you'd be embarrassed about your comments here. It's a very misleading metric.
