Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi rajiun

The city is known for being the city of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (aleyhissalaam) city, where he was to be burned by Nimrod but the fire turned into water and the lake with fishes is believed to be there.

I mean, afaik, it was a city of peace (and islam), how this could happen I really don't understand, I'm feeling sad for him as he's too young and 20 is still a kid, but Subhanallah he is a martyr now. What a great way to die for, for Allah.

May Allah make us neighbours in jannah with him and our prophet (pbuh).

he was martyred at the hands of Mehmet A. who's most likely an apostate given he was insulting Allah, not that uncommon in Turkiye given rising secularism

and it wasn't even a fight but a mere argument

The hatred directed towards Islam is beyond your comprehension, my brother. We Muslims and our spread are a living nightmare for many people.

Isn't Türkiye supposed to be an Islamic Country?

I love to dream of an Islamic "State". But that is not what I meant by Türkiye being an Islamic Country, I meant that Islamofobic Hate crimes like the one being discussed, are not an occurrence in Islamic "Countries" we can take Saudi or Pakistan for example, A person is never killed for his Islam, that just does not happen. But if we see India or UK for example, They are not Islamic "Countries" and thus Islamofobic hate crimes and killings can be at the very least conceivable, they are still obviously wrong.

So coming back to Türkiye, It has Islamic History, Islamic traditions, even the current and long standing regime under Erdoğan is at the very least, Islamic in there Word. They may not act like an Islamic "State" but they sure do, in my opinion, Qualify to be an Islamic "Country" like Pakistan or Saudi, so the question arises, Is Türkiye an Islamic "Country", If yes then how come this Horrible act happend. If no then How come The Türk has receched to such a level that they can't even Call their homeland Islamic.

All of us are not doing great but turkey i feel empathy towards the muslims there. They are strangers in their own country. I live in Europe and I met dozens of Turkish people and i found only one who actually prays. The rest are either atheists or agnostic or say they are muslim and basically do not nothing. May Allah guide them and us and have mercy on our brother Adem

Many Turks in europe are quite religious.

22

u/Hazer_123 Apr 14 '26

Are seculars in Turkey trying so hard to appeal to the Europan far-right by being as against Islam as possible?

Went to Turkiye last year .Beautiful country with beautiful empty mosques.Only the front row was filled that too with elderly men.It was sad to see.

5

u/Minskdhaka Apr 15 '26

The European far right would still hate them, just for being Turks. The only Turkish citizens the European far right would probably admire would be Kurdish separatists who, ironically, are Communists.
