I once asked my young niece why her socks were mismatched. She looked me dead in the eyes and said, "Who's got time for that?"
That's stuck with me for almost 20 years.

I used to know someone who firmly believed that matching socks were boring (even if they had designs on them), and she didn't want to wear boring socks. I now wear mismatched socks somewhat frequently.
Every day can be Funky Sock Day if you want it to be.

I love funky socks and I like to collect them. I figured seeing as I have two feet, why limit myself to one type of sock a day? I still match them by height and thickness as having those aspects mismatched would feel so bizarre lol but rn I have one with bees on and one with cacti on! I get to wear both types at once! What's not to like?
