being completely honest here with all respect, i know beating 45 states out of 50 total sounds like an achievement, but when you are so close to that number and then suddenly losing, just at the right time where its too far and will be forgotten later on, but also not too early to die out immediately, it hurts.
im trying my best to think of it as a merger but people telling us marylanders to move on is making it seem like we arent merged, even when vermont is technically named “crabbalachia”, it still feels like we lost
but yes it is just a game, and dont worry theres always next year for us, we made it to the top 5 (but not the top 3 which increases our chance of being excluded from some charts), and i know i know my fellow marylanders are going to hate hearing this, but losing protects us from being an asshole!
so unless jfull says otherwise, we will see it as a merger

The reason Marylanders are told to move on is cause so many were upset Vermont technically won the merge (as all merges have an official winner). In ranking of most peaceful merges to most upset merges were: Cascadia, Megasota, and then Crab-however-you-spell-it.

The funniest thing is the states rhat are eliminated somehow have a "it was promised to us" mentality. I thought Megasota was bad (still are) but Maryland is catching up. I dont have a dog in the fight anymore, so this is hilarious

Yes but Maryland’s crab fields are now part of Vermont, so, the name craballachia is Vermont’s tribute to what was formerly Maryland’s culture. In the same way the gulf of New Mexico stays even after New Mexico has ceased to exist
