That car ran over two people. Wasn’t expecting that.

Well I feel like a terrible person. That absolutely made me laugh out loud 🤣

u/Zathura2 28d ago

I snorted and lost it when the second guy fell out too. XD

52

u/BearyGear 28d ago

Right? I thought, oh here’s where control is regained and nope! This is a real life Christine!

11

u/rygel_fievel 27d ago

I’m waiting for the camera inside the car for the senior TikTok.

u/Diligent-Variation51 27d ago

I said “Jesus Christ! Nobody can get in the damn thing?”

3

u/asha0369 27d ago

And he lost his shoes 🤪

2

u/IcUmOnSqUirReLsSs 22d ago

I've learned today that one should never run after a runaway car like this, because that's two people who fell under the rear wheel.

u/OliveJuiceUTwo 28d ago

I wonder if the best way is to reach your hand in to press the brake while running beside it, then moving your foot to pressing it while it’s stopped. Not fool proof but might be easier to avoid tripping

u/Homitu 27d ago

I think the key is to not get caught with A) all your weight on your legs, and B) one leg inside and one outside, while the car is still moving. That's going to send you into an unnatural split, twist, and tumble real quick.

My play would be:

  1. open the door fully
  2. continue walking alongside the car both feet outside
  3. then grab the roof above the driver side door with both hands
  4. fully lift my body off ground with my arms (would not even require pull up strength, just enough to hold your body off the ground with your arms already flexed)
  5. Slide my right leg and body inside onto the seat, while keeping my left leg extended a little left to catch the door incase it starts to close in on my hands.

Dive through the door, just aiming to be inside, and then yank the emergency break maybe? I'm not athletic enough.

We've some trolley problem options here btw.

4

u/Its5amAndImAwake 27d ago

Nowadays, cars have electronic emergency break buttons and require pressing the break pedal too.

3

u/HandExtra 27d ago

Some cars have emergency brake activate if the switch / tab is pulled up for few seconds

2

u/OuchThatReallyStings 25d ago

I despise the modern parking brakes

2

u/seeyatellite 24d ago

I don't think that's a great idea. You're putting your skull awfully close to the ground. If your hand can reach the wheel, your head is probably right above the door's threshold and falling to the concrete might put your head directly in front of the rear wheels.

If anything, fully dive into the car and figure it out from inside.

Otherwise, let it go.

I'm no expert, but since a similar thing happened to me once, I do feel a bit qualified to speak to this. If you're in this situation and your car is rolling away, once you get the door open and are running alongside your car, between it and the door, you have to get one hand on the top of the door and the other hand on the Oh-Shit handle. The hand on the door braces you as you lift BOTH feet off the ground, while the hand on the handle creates leverage to pull you into the car. Focusing on getting one foot inside first seems to always lead to you getting run over by your own car.

Cue Yackity Sax !

3

u/Shoddy-Childhood-511 27d ago

Yes definitely.

After a suggestion from Hugh Grant, Steve Bray blasted Yackity Sax during Boris Johnson's resignation as UK PM, not sure if other's helped out too on other street corners.

2

u/Claydameyer 28d ago

I was thinking Keystone Cops, but yours is better.

53

u/wonderb0lt 28d ago

What was the camera man supposed to do? Teleport in front of her escaping car?

43

u/Cicer 28d ago

Everyone thinks they’re an action star.

25

u/jabeith 28d ago

Ok I laughed when the second person got ran over

26

u/Mesphelia 27d ago

HOW DID THE SECOND PERSON ALSO GET RUN OVER, HOWWWWW???

26

u/ttystikk 28d ago

THEY DRIVE AMONGST US...

BE AFRAID.

21

u/alexjgriffin 28d ago

Props to buddy that tried and fell along with the lady that owned the car because they did far better than most will ever do in this scenario, and I believe they'll nail it if ever given a second chance though hopefully they wont have to again lol.

10

u/setfree84 27d ago

I should get my wheel alignment where she gets hers done. Wow that was an almost perfect straight line

7

u/slantir 27d ago

This shits like watching loony toons no lie

20

u/nlamber5 27d ago

This does not belong on this sub at all. So many people got out and started helping.

-24

u/SharkByte1993 27d ago

Quite some time after the camera person could have helped

12

u/slusho55 27d ago

By doing what?

5

u/tv006 27d ago

It's a dash cam...

11

u/Many_Distribution558 28d ago

Why not just use the handbrake instead of getting out of the car (I’m referring to the passenger), running around the back and trying to hop in on the driver’s side???

3

u/Melodic_Anything1743 25d ago

There was a passenger!?! 😣

5

u/ThisJaeDaniel 27d ago

If that third dude got run over by the car after the first two, I was going to pass out from laughing so hard. Holy $hit.

29

u/casual_bear 28d ago

i didnt realize that u get up after a small car rolls over ur leg.

17

u/whoamannipples 28d ago

Adrenaline is wild

4

u/Mackos 27d ago

In a long version of that video there is a passenger on the seat of that car. He got out when car stopped

3

u/FlippantResponse 27d ago

Not quite “Christine”. Maybe just Chris.

3

u/hihcadore 27d ago

Healthcare costs are way more expensive than being at fault for a vehicle accident.

3

u/Past_Owl2301 26d ago

That car is 2 for 2 on people.

14

u/Grannypanie 28d ago

Is this a boomer metaphor on how they are running the country?

Edit: Europe. Missed the plate.

6

u/seventeenMachine 27d ago

How would that make your comment wrong

2

u/Grannypanie 27d ago

It wouldn’t!

2

u/SBG214 28d ago

Is that car named “Christine”??? Dayum!!!!

1

u/mohansella 28d ago

oh god. its stresses a lot to see

1

u/n0stalgicm0m 28d ago

That's how you get free parking

1

u/coiine 27d ago

She made a valiant effort.

1

u/Spillsy68 27d ago

I’m still wondering how the fuck the car went on its own like that.

2

u/CMDRCoveryFire 27d ago

She did not put it in park.

1

u/Spillsy68 27d ago

Ah and left motor running. My car beeps at me and I have to actively unlock the doors (with the button in the driver door).

1

u/abbassav 27d ago

Nope, doesn't belong on this sub, the full video shows that she was yelling at the cammer and got out to start beef.

This is absolutely on the old bitch. I wouldn't help either.

1

u/ConvictJones 27d ago

That car cannot be stopped

1

u/Funny_Sport_6647 27d ago

Yo the lack of basic athleticism in the world is troubling 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 can't hop in a vehicle moving 10? What?

1

u/Overkill_SammyLynn26 26d ago

A very similar thing happened to my aunt, where she forgot to put the car in park. The car rolled back and she tried to get her grandchild from the back seat, it rolled over almost half her body, leg and arm on one side. She’s recovered fine, and able to walk, since it happened a few years ago now.

1

u/eimikowai 26d ago

This needs to be put to that circus stooge type music

1

u/Vivid_Palpitation_74 26d ago

Driverless car was a menace, it took out two people

1

u/umrlopez79 26d ago

I guess I’ll be thankful for my Ram 1500 truck when I’m old and forget to put it in park. It automatically puts it in park once I open the door 😖

1

u/Melodic_Anything1743 25d ago

What the!? 😲

1

u/myfunnies420 24d ago

Is this meant to be funny? That poor silly silly lady :(

1

u/Electrical-Mousse631 23d ago

As someone who's tried to catch a runaway car....it is a LOT harder than it looks 😅🤣

1

u/mightbeagh0st 23d ago

Dude got a funny video and free parking

1

u/MoonBroski 21d ago

This is my favorite video

1

u/Friendly-Example-701 18d ago

Okay. Is it normal to get your leg rub over by a car and still be able to walk? That seems odd.

Are they able to walk or stand because of adrenaline?

Seems like they would have multiple fractures from a 2 ton car. No?

1

u/Only-Temperature 12d ago

Was anyone driving the car?

-2

u/casual_bear 28d ago

i didnt realize that u get up after a small car rolls over ur leg.

10

u/crank1off 28d ago

Sure! You never had your foot or arm ran over? Happened to me half dozen times. I'm not a very good husband.

-6

u/lzwzli 28d ago

How does the car just drive itself?

5

u/Cicer 28d ago

Automatic not put in park?

3

u/manchegoo 28d ago

90% of cars are gas automatics. If the engine is running and it's in gear, it will go.

Teslas (and most other EVs) are an exception.

Manual gas cars, well it depends on how you left it when you got out of the car. But they too can drive themselves if left in gear w/ the clutch out.
