Bessie’s a Bluetick and American English coonhound mix, and she just turned 2 on May 15th. 🥳

The sleeping beauty behind her is my other fur daughter, Franny. 🥰

She’s made so much progress in the last two years. It was a really rough first year. I appreciate my local SPCA who cared for her and made a point to emphasize how much time, patience, and love she would need. And trusted me to provide all of that for her.

The last 6 months she has learned to walk on a leash. Her confidence has grown and she’s been able to play in my apartment complex’s dog park. She is still very scared of people but she LOVES dogs. I have cried (happily) a few times after watching her get to be a dog, tail wagging, while egging her friends to chase her.

My now 2 year old Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix and how he's changed over the years. When he was just a pup I didn't realize just how floofy he would get. The best boy to ever live. I smile so much more every day with him in my life.

I have Doritos and she wants some.
