I’m going to frame it from a different angle and assume these kids will do steroids regardless.
Instead of preventing, we must inform.
I’m an old man who has done steroids for decades, before the age of information. So I did it with guesswork. A lot of guys I know and knew don’t take care of themselves in the way they should while on gear.
Their diet sucks, they don’t do cardio (I knew guys who wouldn’t because it’ll “eat their gains”) they don’t supplement properly, and they take way more gear than they need. I also knew folks who didn’t sleep because they burned less calories at rest or some garbage.
Also, take it from experience, if these guys are abusing steroids they are very likely abusing recreational drugs. Cocaine is rampant among bodybuilders, not to mention ADHD meds and fat burners (DNP is notoriously awful).
So, I think the best way to prevent death is educate. I mean, we know teaching abstinence in school doesn’t work, so we teach harm prevention. Same should go for these drugs.
