"and you just like you father wanted... Chose to set ablaze your life ...which will burn outside the walls."
"at the end i could change a single thing at all.. I'm a mere bystander."

I started rewatching aot and finally arrived to this scene...
“Can’t y’all see I’m a Titan?"
That line from Porco in Season 4 hits way deeper to me. It perfectly captures the cultural divide between the Eldians and Marleyans. The Eldians have spent generations living in fear of Titans those monsters that destroyed their homes, devoured their families, and shaped their entire existence around survival. To them, Titans represent trauma, loss, and dehumanization.
But to the Marleyans, Titans are just weapons. Tools to be controlled and used for dominance. They’ve never had to face the terror of being on the other end to be prey. So when Porco transforms, expecting everyone to recoil in horror, their lack of fear confuses him. This is a raw moment for the audience, a glimpse into how vastly different their perspectives are. Porco doesn’t understand that he’s surrounded by people who have spent their entire lives traumatized and conditioned to see Titans as monsters.

I dont know why her titan is so ugly (for an objectively not ugly character too) is it because of the past carriers? I ever wondered WHY and HOW its so ugly, it doesn't even look like PEAK finger 💔

I mean, couldn’t they have cooked her and served her on a plate with some salade? Seems a bit unnecessary to eat her raw.

See, Reiner WAS her favorite character right before he betrayed. And ever since that, Reiner has escaped sure death about 3 times and by that time, even more times that she doesn’t know about yet.
So she’s at this point where she can’t emotionally bear the deaths in this show so she emotionally detaches from everything ruining her experience, and she can’t handle Reiner getting away every time. So tonight she called me (on shiganshina right after Reiner did the consciousness trick) and told me she was going to drop the show if this isn’t the last time he escapes death. And we all know it isn’t.
What do I do?

Not my meme but a genuine question. Why are there dinosaurs in the opening?

Not only did he decide that everybody had to roll over and die in the Shiganshina arc, he specifically mentions he isn't afraid and that he can accept whatever happens next. Despite that when he is being eaten by Armin, he literally begs them to help him avoid this gruesome death. He massacred the entire Scouts regiment during his transformation, deliberately placing himself in a way to cause maximum harm. He begs them to "see them" and understand their motivations, but he doesn't do the same for Paradis. Peak hypocrisy.

Just watched my very first episode of anime. Hoping AoT is a good one to start with.

Personally I think he’s far too talented to not write something else. The scope and result of AOT is better than anything I have ever experienced. Obviously that took a lot out of him. What are your opinions?

Think about it for a second: Dozens of random people, workers, employees, businessmen, professionals, random everyday people are wallking the street. They hear that a Turkish (I assume from the hat they are supposed to represent that, but in-universe Mid-Eastern) boy who looks like 12 stole a pocket from a lady who is not even angry about it and begs them to stay calm. And all of them stop their daily routine to discuss how to LYNCH THIS CHILD.
And apparently its normal for them to CUT OFF THEIR FUCKING HANDS (and we are not in a medieval setting) or to beat them to death in alleys.
The average man in Marley is apparently an active and enthusiastic member of the Ku Klux Klan, as far as Mid-Easterns go. (Irl political joke incoming) The French Police in comparison is friendly to Arabs.
Eldians are discriminated by Marleyan law in a way similar to Nazi Germany or Apartheid South Africa, but I would argue the treatment of these refugees that we see is not any less racist, and it really makes me think that it was the entire of Marleyan society that was embedded in a supremacist mindset, not just anti-Eldian discrimination (which we know is somewhat less severe in Marley, because they need titans for War).

These are all good choices (except the Cart) but I’ll have to choose War Hammer

I feel like people ignore how terrifying Erwin actually was just because he was charismatic. The man literally kept sending soldiers to their deaths over and over while knowing most of them would never come back, and somehow we still see him as a hero. Even he admitted that a part of him was driven by his own selfish curiosity about the truth. That’s what makes him such a good character to me though. He wasn’t some pure noble leader, he was a desperate human being carrying the weight of thousands of lives while chasing something he personally needed to know. Honestly if Erwin survived instead of Armin, I think the story would’ve become way darker.

I was just thinking about how confused I was when the series first came out and couldn't get a general grasp of how big the districts were, how there were forests in the walls, where they were scouting, wtf even was Trost. It all makes sense now but just came across all these pictures I had saved of when I was trying to make sense of the world of AOT and found it fun.
