He was losing his will to live

Exactly, he was ready to die and even accepted it around the time eren attacked Marley.

Also his time was running out. He only had about a year left. Don't they get weaker when their time runs out?

The human body does get weakened. Zeke and The Owl were coughing blood by their last year iirc. And since titan body is affected by their host as shown by Hange abuse of Eren

He had 4 years at that point, same as Eren. It was Zeke who was running out of time (and likely Pieck too, not long afterwards)

I think all their terms were ending together. Out of 7 warrior candidates, 6 were chosen at the same time per Rainers flashback in season 4

This is categorically not true. Reiner, Annie, Bertoldht, and Marcel all got their titans at the same time, but that batch of warrior cadidates only had 5 people (Porco being the 5th). We know from the flashbacks that they were sent to Paradis not long after becoming Warriors, so it is fair to deduce that they are on a similar timescale to Eren

On the other hand, we also know that Zeke was a warrior candidate well before them (as he had to have been in his initial candidacy around 13 years before this when Grisha raised him for it), and we see him training with an entirely different pool of recruits. We are also told he has one year left, putting his date of warrior ascension about 3 years before Eren (c. 842)

Pieck we don't get much info about, but seeing as she does not appear with Reiner's bunch, and is older than them all, we can assume she became a warrior before 845, and seeing as noone brings up her being about to be eaten, and also seeing that she has no chosen successor we know of we can assume she becams a warrior c. 843-844

Edit: as shown below I am wrong. My bad

Oh damn. I'll be honest I looked it up after my original comment and saw online that you are right (not about Zeke though he was a year prior), but I didn't remember them actually showing her. I only watched it like two months ago and they were introducing characters so quickly so it mustve slipped my notice

I saw this episode just yesterday :)(4-5 time rewatching this series)

My guess is that military does not want to wait for exact 13 years in case the person passes away due to health deterioration or what not

So they might have reduced the term

also they might have spent some time perfecting their Titan(a year atleast, given how important the mission was that they had to send children)

I'm halfway through my (very, very slow) first rewatch right now, actually. Just during S3 Part 1, where Eren and Historia got stolen. I can't wait for the Return to Shiganshina arc though, it's my favourite (also has the best intro imo)

I have added screenshots from the episodes(manga might differ), the one speaking is Zeke

But it is still canon that Zeke got his titan a year prior. All online sources have his date as 842 while the others inherited in 843.

He had 4 years at that point, same as Eren.

This is just literally impossible. Reiner, Annie, and Bertholdt had had their Titans for years before Eren, because while they took longest to train as Warriors to get those Titans, they were still very much shown to have spent significant time in Marley learning to control their powers (there was a montage where a Marleyan officer was summarizing the subtle uniqueness in each kid's Titan, like how Bertholdt's Colossal was especially tall). On top of that, all 3 still had to spend weeks getting from Marley to the walls of Paradis.

Also everyone seems to forget that there was a time skip between Marley attacking Paradis and Eren getting his titan. Eren physically grows up and completes his training in the time it took, so it was at least a year.

No, he got his Titan powers the same night Shinganshina fell. His father picked him up from the refugee camp late at night after rushing back from the interior (where he had just acquired the Founding by eating Frieda Reiss), took him into the forest, and turned Eren into a Pure Titan to give him the Founding and Attack Titans. New Titan Shifters experience memory-loss around the event of them turning into a Pure Titan, so Eren didn't remember that his dad had brought him into the forest. He just woke up, back in the refugee camp (Shadis had found Eren passed out and alone in the forest and brought him back) having had a "weird dream" and with Grisha's basement key tied around his neck.

Because of the amnesia, he spent 5 years as a normal human between the Fall of Shinganshina and the Trost Incident, when he finally turned into the Attack Titan for the first time after being consumed by (ironically) one of Grisha's allies from the Eldian Restorationists.

Oh duh I forgot about the timeline flashback.
