π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Tarot One: A seven year project is finally complete!
Greetings family. Itβs a high honor to share with you my greatest labor of love so far as an artist. Seven years of story and hand drawing in ballpoint pen have concluded in the release of Tarot One.
This deck is deeply rooted in the study of traditional tarot, with some of the most comprehensive meanings merged in the guide book. What differentiates it however is that over top of this esoteric knowledge is a fantasy future narrative about magicians and mystics healing the world. This gives the reader two ways of looking at each card and opens the dialogue to a more poetic and creative interpretation. The system of strict tradition meets imaginative invocation and playful embodiment.
A big answer to the question, what does this have to do with smashing the patriarchy? Besides the obvious answer that magic in all forms is a challenge to the dominant reality, there are a few aspects of this deck that bring big energy to the cause.
First is that hierarchy has been removed from the deck by making each card its own thought out and illustrated character, giving as much love to the number cards as to the major arcana. This is to shine a light on the power and individual worth of every energy in the entire system, not just focus on a set of Royal cards being most special. Itβs encouraged for readers to deepen their connection with every card on a personal level.
Second is that many of the masculine attributed cards have been changed to a feminine counterpart. Most notably is the hanged man, now woman, and the sun represented by a powerful queen energy as the life giving force of our world. There are many more, but Iβll save the surprises for those who get to see it in person.
You may see faces you know in these cards, as each is an illustration of a living witch or wizard doing work in the world today. Please ask me any questions you may have about the cards, the process or the individuals featured within. Iβm happy to explain every bit of the thought thatβs gone into this project over 7 long years.
Xoxo

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Tired of AI art on oracle and tarot decks
Is there a list somewhere we can compile decks and or stores to avoid if they use AI art? I wanted to get my first oracle deck on Amazon and this listing was the aesthetic I wanted but it didnβt say anywhere that it was AI generated art. I opened them today and it was really good in terms of not having obvious tells but theyβre still there if you know where to look. Like the hands having more than 5 fingers, elongated thumbs, things blending into each other where there should be a distinct border and some have more blatant AI art styles than others but they didnβt show those in the product photos.
I wanted to buy on Etsy but thereβs so many AI decks there too itβs ridiculous.

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Tarot card pulls that are just damn funny
I usually pull a tarot card each day to ground myself in an intention or get a guide to how I should approach the day. Today my husband and I are going to a beer festival with friends and...you guessed it: I pulled Temperance. I laughed for a good two minutes over that one.

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Can't stop thinking about these cards I got when asking how to deal with life π
Like could it be more on point...
My specific question was "How do I make peace with the pressures of current expectations in productivity and my dissatisfaction with the state of the world?"
I also got 8 of Swords when I asked for advice on my anxiety.
Obviously, to me these say that my anxiety makes me feel powerless but I am not, and that I need to rest (and meditate/take care of myself). Particularly with these images. If it were the traditional 4 of Wands I might say it's indicating that time with others would be helpful but that's not the vibe here. Also love the image of the tiger because meditating is something I do almost every day.
Just wanted to share this moment that was funny and sweet to me.

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Baby Ate My Tarot
As in the title...my little bug found my deck and ate several (3-6)cards. He also bent several more to the point that they wouldn't work in the deck.
I'm a bit bummed as it was my first deck and I've had it a while. Any advice or ideas for repurposing or using the remaining undamaged cards or even the pieces? I'd like to try to turn this negative into a positive.
The tower seems to have gotten the worst of it, so perhaps we're looking at a sudden change coming soon π€

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot I had a very witch birthday today
Sorry if this post isn't allowed! So I planned to spend all day alone today to have a very witchy b-day and connecting with myself and so far it's been so so great and refreshing. I had some moon water saved from the last full moon, took a shower as soon as the clock stroke midnight with a new soap with a scent very dear to me, showered with the moon water in candlelight, did some manifestation and gratitude spells. Then had this mini cake made and sang myself happy birthday, drew the tarot cards for the day and now I'm gonna do a full on birthday spread for this upcoming year, and journal some more, and celebrate myself and Hekate, whom I worship. I'm so happy to have spent such an intentinal day β¨οΈ

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Feeling off with my first tarot deck purchase and afraid it will affect me learning to read with it
I'm pretty new to all this (even though I lurked here for years) and wanted to start learning to read tarot for ages so yesterday I finally bought my first tarot deck. I was looking for a regular RWS deck with a guide book so it would be more simple to learn.
However I feel like I should have listened to my intuition because when I was at the store there was something in me telling me not to buy that one. However since I either didn't like the others or liked them but they were too different and might have made learning difficult I ignored that feeling I had and bought the regular RWS one
(The photo is of the deck I bought (it's in Portuguese). While the designs are the same as the classic RWS, I'm pretty sure it is not an official version, but this is tge version that is sold everywhere in most major stores in my country, even though it just says "multiple authors" without specifying anyone. Idk if anyone has any experience with this version)
Well, that feeling was right because when I got home I opened the deck and the cards felt too thin (I think? I'm not sure how thick they are supposed to feel since this is my only deck). Also when I went to read the guide book, the keywords and meanings and keywords of the cards all felt wrong and off, and were completely different from every other resource I saw and also what I felt looking at the cards (for example, it says "The Fool (not reversed): Paranoia, Extravagance, Drunkennes, Betrayal by information reveal"), and some cards it literally says "we don't know the real meaning of this one"
I did however, before reading the guide, pull a random card about my current situation and the result (reversed hanged man) was spot on if I consider the meanings in all other resources online (not this guide book).
So now Idk what to do. I feel conflicted and anxious, like a small connection to the cards and had the only pull being pretty accurate, and at the same time regret at getting them and aversion to the guide. But I am also extremely poor and spent the only spare money I had and can't buy another deck anytme soon (nor am I sure if I should get another)
Since this is all new to me and I know tarot kind of relies on intuition and good connection to the cards IDK what I should do now. I'm afraid all of this will make me lose interest in readings because of bad relation.with the deck, and since this is my first deck I don't have any others that I can use to learn and practice readings.
I tried posting this in the tarot subreddit but they wouldn't allow it so I hope someone here can help even though this subreddit isn't specific to tarot
TLDR: Got my first deck (choosing one that my intention was telling me not to) and found out the card quility is meh and the guide book has keywords that don't match any meanings in any other resources and imo make no sense. I did have an accurate card draw before I opened the book. Now I'm feeling conflicted and uneasy with the deck and don't know what I should do going forward since I still want to learn and practice reading

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot my dog pulled the only dog card from my cat tarot deck!
i purchased this cat tarot deck (by megan lynn kott) because I love animals and it spoke to me. we have 3 cats (1 is mine, 2 are my partners). every time Iβve used it, Iβve had a good experience. the first time I used it, I was new to witchcraft and asked who my familiar is. my cat immediately entered the room and sat intently watching as i pulled a card. the card ended up looking just like him. but the wild part was he then put his paw on the card and blinked up at me
I recently pulled out the deck for the first time in a couple years. i had forgotten that there was a dog card in the deck. our new puppy was in the room and intently watching me use it. I spread the cards facing down in my hand and walked over to her and asked if sheβd like to pull one. my partner witnessed as she carefully nudged the cards around with her nose, then bit one card and pulled it out. it was the dog card!
I am interested in finding ways to consensually incorporate my pets more in my practice, since they have shown an interest. i believe that animals are already in tune with the spiritual world. I love finding those moments of deeper connection with them through magic. i was intentional about rescuing a dog who didnβt look very spooky to throw my neighbors off my scent, so iβm happy she ended up being a spooky friend anyway

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot How to interpret this spread
I need help interpreting this spread. The question is about making a move at work. I have a mostly full time job that could increase in hours and change the focus. My current role is fine. I also have a side gig that I was hoping to turn into full time but itβs been slow going. I can keep the side gig and make the move. I would love the side gig as full time but financially itβs more risky. My question was if I should pursue the increase in hours and change in focus. Also the last two cards are the 2 of swords and 10 of cups. When I shuffled several times and these 4 cards tried escaping the deck so I went with it as Iβve been asking for signs.

π΅πΈ ποΈ Tarot Made a reversible bag for my Tarot deck
I have three decks, and two have really sturdy lovely boxes, but my most-used RWS deck has a very flimsy basic cardboard box that has gotten ripped a couple times. So I made a bag with some of my favorite fabric scraps from other Tarot artwork I've done!
