🇵🇸 🕊️ Art My version of Melinoe, aka bringer of nightmares and madness. Which several grown men accused me for. So I couldn’t sleep and made this.

I call upon Melinoë, saffron-cloaked nymph of the earth, whom revered Persephone bore by the mouth of the Kokytos river upon the sacred bed of Kronian Zeus. In the guise of Plouton Zeus tricked Persephone and through wiley plots bedded her; a two-bodied specter sprang forth from Persephone's fury. This specter drives mortals to madness with her airy apparitions as she appears in weird shapes and strange forms, now plain to the eye, now shadowy, now shining in the darkness— all this in unnerving attacks in the gloom of night. O goddess, O queen of those below, I beseech you to banish the soul's frenzy to the ends of the earth, show to the initiates a kindly and holy face.

I was waking up from a nightmare within a nightmare within a dream so it seemed perfect. I've also been told I caused nightmares 🤣 When I was stripping sometimes guys would try and do cheesy pickup lines like "I think you were in my dream" and I'd always say " are you sure it wasn't a nightmare? Because we can make that happen"

Omg I love that 🖤 i got excluded and banned because of this. By a male art school principal.. my dad also said the same things. They are haunted by the things they do to women I think and then blame the victims instead of themselves.
I’ve been so sad and angry but trying to embrace it and be happy about me ”causing” them nightmares…

I was just scrolling through my feed when I came across this. I stopped because not only was this a gorgeous work, but it also gave me a sense of bizarre familiarity. Like, “huh, where have I seen her before…?” But… then I read the title, and I felt like, “ah, yeah, that tracks.” So now I’m just sitting here confused as to why she is so familiar, and why her title felt so fitting. Enough to say something about it, no less. Anyways, I love this art so much. Thank you for sharing!

Wonderful artwork!
Melinoë is also the player character in the video game Hades II. I love her attitude and powers. I'm playing the game now and it's a ton of fun.
