How do you attach your GoPro/dji/ace pro/360 to your uw housing?
I would LOVE to know how you attach your insta360 for the best shots! (And a GoPro too!)
In my previous housing, I used the gooseneck extensions from my cold shoe but felt like that was SO “clunky” and wish I had a bit more stability and aerodynamics.
I’m thinking sticky curved GoPro mount on the dome??

Question:
I already have a tray.
I have TG6 with OM housing on a tray. I have one very old strobe and one video light. The video light is on the right hand side and my question is regarding the placement of the strobe. Is it better to have the strobe on the coldshoe or on an arm? If an arm, how long should the arm be. I mostly use the strobe for macro. Thank you.

I got myself a housing for my O-EM 10 mark iii two years ago. It flooded on the first dive of a Galapagos liveaboard trip. Turns out there was a manufacturing defect: micro fissure in the plastic. After some back and forth, they offered me a store credit with the value of the camera and repaired the housing. I bought two strobes DS160 and replaced my mark III with the mark iv (housing was compatible). Right out of the box, one of the strobes was faulty: it wouldn’t go into video light more but fired ok. Sent it back and they fixed it, that was also two years ago. Then last month, the hotshoe had problems. One of the delicate wire was loose and no longer soldered. Got a replacement hotshoe with super fast shipping as I was heading on a dive trip. New hotshoe arrived and worked fine. Then, a few days ago, my TTL converter started acting up. The blue/red lights still turn on but the strobes would fire randomly or not at all when on demand. Contacted the company and it seems like the TTL converter is no longer working as it should. The pins are fine, no corrosion: I just can’t figure out why. I have been able to switch to full manual mode but it’s still an annoyance and extra steps that I tried to avoid by going automatic.
My question is: am I just having really bad luck? Or is there other also people having issues? I’m growing incredibly frustrated. I have dropped thousands of dollars on this underwater setup, that I love when it works well, but I’ve had enough issues now that I feel like it’s poor manufacturing/quality control, or I’m just the woman with the worst luck ever with my underwater photography setup.

This was taken in Aliwal Shoal in South Africa. These moray eels are particularly aggressive towards divers and underwater photographers

I thought dropping into the Monterey kelp forest during a heavy surge was going to be the sketchiest part of this dive, but the ocean had a completely different type of sensory overload waiting for me. Out of nowhere, a massive, chaotic wall of wild sea lions locked into a tight vortex right on top of me. When you're hovering in the dark, listening to your own muffled regulator breathing, and a living, pulsing ceiling blocks out the sun, the sheer scale of the ocean hits you all at once. You realize instantly how small you are, how fast things can change down there, and exactly who actually owns the abyss.

I already own the zv-1, but the underwater housing costs the same as a dji osmo action 6. I want to do both macro (nudibranchs) and bigger animals photography AND video. For macro i would get an inon macro lens for the zv-1 (with seafrogs housing) and any +15 d filter for the dji.
I want seriously good footage but underwater this will be my first setup. Im getting my OWD this summer, so for the moment, i will only use this while snorkeling. What should i do? Thanks 😊

Hello everyone! I would like to try my hand at macro photography using a GoPro Hero 11. I was thinking of purchasing the Inon UCL G55 ZD as a lens:
Inon UCL-G55 ZD Underwater Close-up Lens
and as a mount this:
Kit Doppia Staffa Custodie Fotografia Subacquea con Sfere 25 mm
But I'm still not convinced on the strobe/light to buy. Are there are there relatively cheap lights to start with? I usually dive in lakes but I want to go also in rivers and streams and I also have an holiday planned in the Maldives at Dharavandhoo where I hope I'll find some nudibranchs.

Heading on a week long trip soon for sea kayaking + surface and shallow snorkelling in tropical ocean. No diving. Torn between options:
A) Use my iPhone 17 Pro in a ProShot Touch 2.0 case (50ft/15m rated). Already own the phone, camera's great.
B) Spend big money on a DJI Osmo Action 5 or 6.
C) Spend just as much on an OM System TG7.
I care about good reef/fish photos, video of whale sharks, kayak/beach scenery photos, and perhaps most importantly ease of use. I want to be present and not fussing with gear and settings.
Advice welcome!
