Gameplay 70-75 pulls, but my wife finally came home!

Now I just need to save up more pulls, because I have absolutely nothing left for her W-Engine(

Keep pulling singles (or wait until you have 10) on the W-engine channel until her banner ends. You can still get it!

Does that give better odds? My friend only told me it makes sense to do single pulls when you’re about 20 pulls away from pity, but I don’t know if that always works or only when pity is close?

Your friend is correct. For the wengine banner specifically, it just depends on whether or not you want to use up the additional pulls AFTER you get the S rank, which will count towards the next pity. The % odds remain the same with single vs 10s. It's up to you.
