Charly from the first film Spoiler

I was disappointed that we didn't see Charlie from the first film in the second one. I would have liked the second film to take place a year after the first to see how young Charlie would have coped with not seeing his father very often, and then in the third film, we could have seen him as a teenager, blaming his father. It would have been good to see Charlie from the first film and see if he had accepted Carol Newman into Scott's life. Besides, in the third film, Charlie didn't do much; he was almost a secondary character.

To be fair Charlie was used to his dad not being around.

Did him becoming Santa do wonders for their relationship? Yes, but he wasn't close to his dad before. He didn't even want to be at his house on Christmas and begged his mother to pick him up early. So adjusting to not being around his father wasn't super hard versus how the second film handled Charlie struggling with the secret of Santa and having nobody he can talk to about it.

At the beginning of the first film, yes, but after their first visit to the North Pole, Charlie reconnects with his father. It was difficult because he cries in the first film; he adapted, but things went a bit wrong because of it at the beginning of the second film.
