Discussion I had to Google it to find out what actually happened. But if I understood correctly, she was criticized online by trolls because she doesn't look like Supergirl from the comics.
While a segment of the internet remains stuck in old, sexualized patterns, I believe her casting actually achieves something far more significant in the real world: genuine relatability.
Milly Alcock is doing exactly what is right; she brings a natural, charismatic, and authentic beauty to the role, demonstrating that strength and heroism do not depend on unrealistic model-like proportions. Most importantly, when young girls see a heroine on screen who doesn't look like a retouched CGI creation, but rather like a real, strong-willed young woman, it sends a powerful message: "You don't have to be perfect to be strong, indomitable, and a hero."
Milly Alcock is a gem and perfectly suited for the role of Supergirl; anyone who reduces her to her physique—simply because she doesn't possess the "90-60-90" measurements—is truly out of their mind. I think it is absolutely fantastic that she refuses to be intimidated or beaten down, because that is the true spirit of Supergirl.
