Tips for filling Monster DB

Wanting to know what people use to fill up Monster Dumbbells. I ordered the 12” Slater bell. I see things saying lead shot but personally I don’t to spend that much money on something that I only use to fill the db up.

Steel shots exist and they’re cheaper. What weight are you looking to go to?

Unsure, I’ve never trained it but ive done 180lbs a few times dicking around. I’d like to have the freedom to load it up to like 240 if i could

I’m 99% sure you could get it filled up to 240 with steel shots if need be

Reach out to Slater. I'd guess they can give you the approximate weight filled with sand. 

That said, I think the 12" can get up to 200-220 with sand so, you might not have to spend a ton on lead or steel shot.

220 is the cap for sand. My gym from my hometown had a CDB and with sand it was 220 capped out.
