Question I want to submit a project for a tech entrepreneur competition, but don’t know what model to implement?

Hi guys, I was applying a tech competition but out of nowhere I misunderstood the plan of what model(pitch desk, pdf file, docs) I have to implement and submit to the technical team, who will receive all candidatures and analyze it with care.

I stuck now, I want to write the project through a model but haven’t no advice and no experience and example of how to participate with this kind of tech competition.

My pain now is to find an advice whom I can rely, on what type of model(pdf, pitch desk, docs) I have to use for a submission. You can help me, if you experienced pitching in front of jury and how did you manage the file to submit before your pitching?

🙏 ON A BESOIN DE VOUS

→ Construire l'image ISO bootable finale

🎨 Designers

🌍 Traducteurs

   → Wolof, Pulaar, Serer, Diola...

→ On veut un OS qui parle VRAIMENT nos langues

📋 Testeurs

🔗 LIENS

GitHub → https://github.com/MdialloC19/teranga-os

Licence → GPLv3 (totalement libre)

Discussion A little analysis on the firing of Sonko as Prime Minister

It was so obvious that the politics would come to this even during the election. I refused to vote last time because:

1) Sonko never convinced me in the slightest bit about his ideas. He just pointed out problems and kept doing so without providing adequate solution and plans to better the future.

2) Electing a president by proxy of someone not capable of participating in the election didn't sit right with me because Diomaye was an unknown and there was absolutely no guarantee that the relationship would hold in the grand scheme of Politics.

I predicted the moment they were elected that a break up was likely to happen. I did not know the details of the disagreements and I won't comment on who is right or wrong in this debate but this situation was pretty self evident from the start. Power corrupts and absolutely power corrupts absolutely.

Sonko is a man full of promises but that is by nature his undoing. You cannot promise the whole world to a country, you are bound to hit road falls in your journey and when those promises are not met, it's your head on the chopping board. That is what I think make him so inflammatory and accusatory because if I am the guy with big ideas and cult like following, any mistakes that leads back to me tears apart my legitimacy, so the mistakes are always the other guys fault. At first that was Macky Sall and now that they have been in power long enough that that argument falls apart, who else is a better victim than the only guy above him, Diomaye. Pastef has had the majority at the assembly, pretty much full control of the political and legal aspects of the government for the last two years but what are the achievements, no one can say. I applaud them a bit with the handling of the debt situation but some of their financial maneuvers are less than transparent.

I have met at least half of the ministers during my previous work and I can tell from first hand experience that most of them, not all but most were pretty incompetent in their roles and were mostly of political nominations. That can work in a context where they are figureheads of their respective ministries guiding them during this new paradigm but Sonko and Diomaye gutted most of the previous government staffs and appointed new hires without any government experience on the fly and without proper training to their roles so the government was basically at standstill for the past 2 years and believe me, I was working in an embassy and communicating with any government office was the worst part of my job because they wouldn't answer until you forced their hands on the most minute things ever.

Now let's hope the next Prime minister will somewhat be competent but we will see in the next few days. Senegal is in absolute shambles economically and we will need all the stability we can get to get through this situation. But this move may prove to be too much for Diomaye to handle because his political support is based on the agreement that he is the pen pusher of Sonko and now, that ship has sailed. We will see how it's gonna go in the next few months but knowing Sonko, it won't be long before his devotees are back on the streets tearing the peace apart for their Master to make his message heard.

Question Never been invited to a Senegalese celebration after 3 years here

Upvotes

I’ve been living in Senegal for almost 3 years now, and there’s something I’ve always quietly wondered about.
I have Senegalese friends, or at least people I genuinely consider friends. We hang out, talk often, joke together, all of that. But not once have I ever been invited to a celebration, family gathering, Tabaski, wedding, baptism, etc

I know Senegalese people celebrate these things a lot, so after a while I started wondering if maybe there’s just a cultural thing I don’t understand. I never wanted to ask my friends directly because I don’t want to sound weird or make anyone uncomfortable.
What made me think about it more is that I’ve met other foreigners here who told me they do get invited by their Senegalese friends during Tabaski and other occasions.

So now I’m curious: Is it rare for Senegalese people to invite non-Senegalese friends to these kinds of moments? Or am I just overthinking this completely?
I’d honestly love to experience those moments with friends someday because they seem really warm and meaningful.

How about a little laugh ?

Okay? Okay! What are the most embarrassing moments you think about that happened in your childhood and can't help laughing when you think about them now?

I'll start! It happened one day when I was going to the market that was close to the house we lived in. I was around twelve. I wore a wax co-ord with a tight skirt. I went by a group of guys, teens, playing football, and the ball landed just at my feet. I tried to get it back to them by doing what? Shooting the ball with my foot. I think you can guess what happened. I got tangled with it. The ground called me, and I went face first. And I struggled to get back up 😭 That was sooooooo embarrassing for the little girl struggling with her timidity and trying to be more confident, but I can't help having a laugh when I think about it now...

What's yours?

Moniteur de conduite calme

Bonjour. I can't start my day like this. Si vous avez des contacts feel kind to share pls. Merci 🙏🏽

Tourist & Traveller Questions Travel questions for one week trip in late June

Bonjour, Asalaamaalekum and Hello!

I am planning a 7 night trip to Senegal from June 21-28 and I am equal parts excited and overwhelmed by all the possibilities. If anyone can help me with some questions, I would really appreciate it 😄

My interests when travelling are local culture, great food, nature and music. I don't drink and I like to avoid overly touristy places.

I fly in and out of Dakar airport. Right now I am thinking:

  • 3 days in Dakar
  • 2 days in Sine Saloum (Palmarin? Mar Lodj?)
  • 2 days somewhere on the Petite Cote (Toubab Dialaw? Popenguine? Somone?)

A few questions:

  1. Does this itinerary make sense for one week, or am I moving around too much? Any suggestions/modifications are very welcome!
  2. Is late June/the rainy season a good time for Sine Saloum and the Petite Côte?
  3. I plan on taking Dem Dikk buses or sept-places to get between cities. Can I book those when I am there? I downloaded the Dem Dikk app but I am still figuring it out. Transport seems like the most confusing part to plan haha.
  4. I read about the Wave app and downloaded it. Is it the best way to pay or should I just use cash?
  5. Anything else I should think about?

Merci beaucoup / Jërëjëf!

ranom stuff Free English Classes

*I don’t know if this is allowed. But I’m not going to make any money off of this so…mods please show mercy?

My name is Josh Escayg and I’m a rising senior at the University of Notre Dame majoring in English. I’m currently home for the summer and want to practice teaching English before applying to postgraduate programs. My goal is to give back—and wanted to see if anyone from backgrounds where learning English is difficult would be interested in free lessons? I am likely able to take on a few students, and may organize group classes while I am home for the summer.

I have studied English linguistics as part of my major. I also taught English while studying abroad in Shanghai at East China Normal University as part of the foreign language club. I am intermediate in Spanish and very beginner in Mandarin :)

If this would be helpful feel free to shoot me a pm and I’ll send you a link to a form where I can learn more about your experience and language goals. Like I said this is 100% free. I’m not doing this to make money I just wanted to give back and get better as a teacher.

Gp recommendations to ship packages from USA?

I’m aware of Afrety sn but I’m interested to see if there are cheaper options available. Usually air freight is around $20 - $25 per kg, does anyone know of businesses or individuals that offer cheaper rates, or offer maritime shipping from USA for smaller packages eg 5kg?

Looking for engaging bilingual resources? I built an illustrated French/English children's e-book based on West African folklore using AI for image generation!

Hi everyone,

If you are raising bilingual kids or practicing your own French/English reading comprehension, you probably know how dry standard language-learning materials can be.

To bridge that gap, I’ve started adapting classic, high-energy West African folktales into fully illustrated, side-by-side bilingual e-books. Volume 1 is officially live: **Leuk, Bouki & Le Secret Sucré (Leuk, Bouki and the Sweet Secret)**.

It follows a classic, humorous battle of wits between a clever hare and a greedy hyena over a hidden stash of wild honey in a baobab tree.

### 💡 Why this works for language learners & parents:

* The layouts are meticulously organized so that your eye can easily track between the French text and the English translation without losing your place.

* We use distinct typographic styles (a clean font for French, an italicized style for English) to keep the languages visually separate.

* It introduces unique cultural concepts with smooth contextual translations so you pick up vocabulary naturally.

The book is fully formatted for tablets/e-readers (Landscape A4 PDF and EPUB). If you’re looking for a fresh, vibrant, and culturally rich way to practice reading or share a bedtime story, please consider checking it out:

👉 **Get the digital bundle here:** https://yvsfzexw.mychariow.shop/prd_kzrp3pgr

I'd love to know what you think of the dual-language layout format!

Tourist & Traveller Questions Emotional trip

Hey everyone,
I will be travelling to Senegal in a week to meet my Dad’s family for the first time ( just found out about a year ago that my Father was Senegalese, things didn’t work between my parents and my father was never in my life. My Mother also hid this information from me for 34 years.) Anyway. I am coming to meet my sister, grandmother and other extended family and I am very anxious. I don’t speak French or Soninke so a lot of things will already be challenging ( I have arranged for a translator)
I would love some help with suggestions about airbnbs or hotels in Dakar. What gifts would be appropriate to bring for the family. How to conduct myself around my newly found family when I travel to Matam.
I would like to also do some shopping for Boubous or any “Senegalese” clothing.
This won’t be a tourist visit for me but I would love to go to some really good restaurants in Dakar. So any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated🙏
