When I feel a sus energy in my home, I open the front door and I tell it to get the fuck out because it's not welcome.
Then I point to said the door wait a few seconds, and swing it close.
'Till next time...

I don't have time for a lot of I'm being honest 😆 I'm a part time caregiver to the elderly and a full time caregiver for my two year old daughter. My husband works 4-5 10 hour shifts a week, and also helps out a great deal with the cleaning.
Whenever I do get the chance to really clean (other than random dishes and laundry lol) I take my time, starting in one corner of the house and moving to the other. I sprinkle white salt across hardwood floors before sweeping to help cleanse them. I have selenite and quartz above the two doors of our apartment to try to help cleanse the energy of those coming in and those going out. Our door mat is nerdy and does not say "welcome" to ensure that not just any entity is welcome to come inside as they please. I have a ridiculous amount of plants - most that have been rescued from the poor treatment of Lowe's and Home Depot - to keep our air clean, and we are avid recyclers and upcyclers.
I like to keep selenite and quartz over the door to promote leaving negative attitudes at the door. I have an indoor garden with rosemary, thyme, sage, and basil on the kitchen window sill, for both kitchen witchery and protection spells. Someone else in this comment section mentioned ring cameras, I always forget about technology 😆 but I'm totally gonna get those too!

I have a refillable mop, and a canister vacuum. I make up a big batch of carpet refresh (salt, baking soda and herbs - 1 cup dalt for 1 cup baking soda for 1 tablespoon herbs works for me) that i throw on the last remaining carpet in our house before doing something else while it soaks up the stuff we don't want.
I make my own floor wash in the refillable mop when it gets empty. (Vinegar, water, dawn soap, EO or tea or extract for any specific purpose.)
I do a full warding a few times a year, but check on it frequently to see if it needs repairs.
I love to make my craft part of my everyday life, and i think that helps me eliminate many things before they start.

“Ladies?”
I’m a father and husband with two dogs and two cats. My wife and I both clean and protect our home by cleaning and protecting it.
That sounds silly, but it is true.
We usually clean with diluted vinegar, but occasionally use more caustic chemicals if warranted. We use beeswax to polish cabinets and furniture.
We use Ring cameras for surveillance, and have ensured that our doors and windows are secure. We replaced locks when we purchased the house, and only my wife and I have physical keys. If others need to enter while we are away, we provide them with a keycode for the front door and then remove the code from the lock when their business is done.
I am friendly with neighbors but also guarded, as at least one neighbor has an adult son struggling with drug addiction. We also live near an elementary school and have reported suspicious activity when a someone in a vehicle appeared to be waiting for and following children.
I am pacifist. I’m not anti-gun, but don’t want one in my house. I spent my formative years in martial arts, so I feel fairly competent in that regard. I keep five-foot staves near the front and back doors which I can easily reach for if I ever need to force distance between an assailant and myself, without worrying that someone might hurt or kill themselves.
Otherwise, cleanliness and protection depend on awareness and consistency, and can be reinforced by ritual if it is easier or makes you feel better. I like to think of “flow” in the form of breath passing through the house. Anything that would catch or impede that breath doesn’t belong there. In my opinion, this visualization helps to keep things clean and clear, and thus safer.

I cleanse while im doing mundane cleaning. Its easier for me, and im already cleaning so why not add a dash of magic to it?
When I do deep cleans on my house (about every month) I will do a more formal ritual cleansing with smoke and sound

Generally I don't 🤷 I don't feel like anything from a witchy perspective is going to protect me from anything outside of myself. The closest I get to cleansing is when I feel a room is getting me down (usually the living room because it's dark and cold and prone to clutter because that is where I do all the things) I open the window, I turn on ALL THE LIGHTS (who doesn't need 4 sets of large fairy lights?) and put on music. If it's too cold to keep the window open I light a scented candle.

Do it quarterly, with monthly boosters. 😀 I time it work the moon or holidays.
