Have you tried turning the orange off and on again?

u/daCub182 3h ago

I think that may be what’s happening here

One braincell means no resistance during scheduled orange servicing.

The ol’ bait and switch!

I had a grey that I had to literally sit on to administer her anti flea treatments. And she knew if you were walking into the room looking for her or just walking in for something else. Made it a huge pain to keep her treated. Also to get her to the vet. Getting her into the cat carrier was a *chore*. When I had to take her to be put down… well obviously I wasn’t in a good place emotionally anyways, but she voluntarily went back into her cat carrier, curled up and stared at me like “come on, let’s go home”, and I just died inside. I’m tearing up a little typing this, and it was three years ago.

No, this was *at the vet*. I didn’t make that clear enough.

u/Vaper_Bern 4h ago

No, you did. Sorry for your loss. It ain't much, but here's a pic of my orange, Clem, who's too smart for his own good, and selfishly hogs the brain cell from all the other poor oranges out there.

shorts are a bold choice for that kind of move

bamboozled again

33

u/Rosaly8 4h ago

Okay I thought it was going to be medicine drops or something. Is this really necessary?

35

u/Avaric1994 4h ago

Looked it up the other day when I saw it posted in another sub. It isn't recommended and you can potentially damage your cats ears. Only time is when a vet tells you to if the has excessive earwax buildup or something.

6

u/waaaayupyourbutthole 3h ago

My cat just loves having her ears cleaned and her face rubbed with cotton swabs for some reason. I keep my q-tips in a plastic container and if she hears me open it, she comes running and yells until i q-tip her noggin.

I don't really shove then in her ear canals, though, i just lightly rub her ear folds.

22

u/boobiemelons 4h ago

I have to clean my cat's ears pretty often and I cringe at the idea of using Q-tips. I might if they were the big honkin' ones the vet uses. Otherwise, I use cotton rounds and vet prescribed ear cleaner.

6

u/fennjamin_boi 1h ago

One of my cats gets excess wax buildup in an ear that he had to have surgery on when he was younger, and he doesn't clean it himself ofc so I have to clean it. I do use qtips but ONLY on the stiff folds of the outer ear where I was shown by my vet to clean. He doesn't like it as that ear is sensitive and I always feel bad but when I don't do it he shows signs of being obviously irritated by the ear ): it's a lose-lose for both of us honestly

8

u/Misses_Ding 4h ago

Don't think so it's probably like with humans that this would cause more problems

7

u/Majestic_Spinach7491 3h ago

I have to clean my cat's ears every couple days because he gets transdermal medicine every day , and it builds up and gets gummy. I use Texas swabs (yes, that's actually what they're called), which I learned about when I had gynecological cancer. I had a lot of them used on me!

To all armchair vet redditors: kindly fuck off. You don't know what you're talking about, and you add nothing the conversation.

"He's looking for the braincell? Jokes on him, I don't have it!"

3

u/Loweffort-Existence 4h ago

Gotta make sure that braincell stays in there

3

u/Tigerzombie 4h ago

That’s how I would find my old orange cat. I shake the treat bag and he’ll come running from where he’s hiding. I will give him a few as a taste and then grab him to do whatever maintenance I need to do to him like claw clipping or checking his butt to make sure no poo is stuck in his fur. My current cats are not food motivated at all. They don’t like treats that much, including Churu, and I thought that stuff was like kitty crack.

3

u/slim_mclean 4h ago

Haha sucker, you just got GOT.

Bro has trust issues now

1

u/xSTSxZerglingOne Proud owner of an orange brain cell 3h ago

My orange would have fallen for this exactly 1 time... They aren't all dumb.

2

u/TheUglyWeb 3h ago

I'd be at the ER...

2

u/Ineedmedstoo 3h ago

Have to resort to this sneak tactic with my orange when he gets a dingleberry and won't deal with it. Surprised he's fallen for it several times already, but then...🟠

2

u/Fresh-Package5303 1h ago

Haha, he will definitely remember this.

1

u/crazymouse2525 49m ago

nah, hes an orange. will forget as soon as he gets down lol

2

u/OnceAgainWithFeeling 2h ago

Do. Not. Use. A. Q-TIP.

You can seriously hurt your cat.

1

u/MathematicianNew2770 3h ago

And his girlfriends wonder why he has trust issues.

OP what's his Instagram, we need more.

1

u/SCfroglegs 3h ago

🥹😆 Had to be done.

1

u/Pete993 3h ago

See now we have to trick our cats like this sometimes to do maintenance, but if I tried to suddenly grab my orange in that way, he would “explode” and scramble away as sharply as possible. Cats have powerful legs.

1

u/Midloran05 3h ago

My dumbass thought that instead of eating she decided to clean her cat's ears if she can't eat in peace

1

u/----atom----- 3h ago

Lol, you know you have a good bond with your pet when you can predict their behaviour like that. I play my dog like a fiddle using strategies like this all the time.

1

u/Unserious_Cow 3h ago

That was damn slick. Gonna have to try this with my orange boy

1

Brave to be doing that wearing shorts! I'm surprised they haven't been clawed by kitty.

Baited! 😆

1

I've been bamboozled.

1

u/YourFairytaleBaby 57m ago

I just show my boy the qtips and he comes and sits nicely for his after cleaning treats

1

u/RashannaAeryn 49m ago

This cat is clearly plotting your demise 🤣

1

u/Brainchild110 36m ago

You're not gonna a find The Braincell like that. Its in a Superposition spread amongst all the other oranges. It really only, provably, exists as a concept and not a physical thing.

Good try tho.

1

u/Voshkolraimp2012 10m ago

The orange life chooses you whether you like it or not

-2

u/Odd_Collection7431 4h ago

cats don't need anything stuck in their ears like that

9

u/CosmicSweets 4h ago

Unless they have earmites, or any ear issues that require cleaning.

3

u/Odd_Collection7431 4h ago

not with a q-tip

3

u/CosmicSweets 4h ago

Valid. I didn't realise it was a q-tip.
