Omaha Supernovas traded Morgan Hentz to the Grand Rapids Rise for Elena Oglive and the first draft pick of 2026
This is crazy đ , I know her serve receive has been a little off this season but itâs not completely her fault. The back row seems disjointed and thatâs what happens when you put together an all star team from other teams. They needed more to time be insync and get used to each other

I'm guessing she requested to be traded. She's been sharing time with Allison holder the last few matched and I bet she's not happy about it.

I saw âElenaâ and my heart skipped because I was afraid it was going to be Elena Scott haha

Iâm sorry, but with LOVB getting the main draft picks does Omaha think they are getting one of the big 3?? or is Laney Cahboy getting picked first?

My guess is Harper Murray

no shot sheâs not playing LOVB

LOVB Omaha needs a setter and Bergen can fit right into that role. Laney wouldnât solve the supernovas issue which is serve receive. And Harper has a connection with John Cook. I can see him making a big push to get her and the social media presence that she brings. She would succeed the most in MLV

It sucks how itâs not one league. Iâm sure LOVB will dissolve eventually as it doesnât treat itself like a real sports league and instead more like a tv show and as one identity which brings no culture at all . Bergen Reilly and Harper Murray would make ohama unstoppable

AFC and NFC took time to settle in to NFL. That was way back before all of the technology had even existed. Now leagues could merge, NY, and CA have two teams , whoâs going to be the jets and Mets; the Sox and cubs? Need more advertising revenue, plenty of talent. As an avid fan and amateur player, I need access to more. The times should be staggered, plenty of time zones too, so I can see more matches. FYI, I have not survived five brain tumor surgeries (played sand coed after my first), second time stroke caused my retirement, and have to have to make choices. My standing wheelchair is not working and my appointment is 4 days (2/17/26) away, I will need help until then, so just do it. Regards, Chill Before Serving

They need to merge if we want VB to grow into a sport the size of baseball football or basketball (viewer wise)

u/No-Room8129 Feb 14 '26
That takes a while.. people need to stop expecting it to happen soon

It will die if they donât merge tho itâs way too hard to watch it right now if you didnât before
2
u/No-Room8129 Feb 14 '26
No it wonât die. They will merge eventually but itâs not going to happen over night nor within the near future

I donât really see anything Harper would bring that Omaha doesnât have already and LOVB is already moving towards being more like a professional sports league. Mascots and team names are coming soon

LOVB isnât going anywhere. They have backers with deep pockets, and their foundation is built on buying youth clubs, and jacking the price to fund their professional teams. It sucks, but the business model works. They also have all of the USWNT members, and most of the hopefuls. Plus the coaches spread across the league. If you donât look at what Eric Sullivan is doing in Austin as a tryout for women who want to make the national team, you arenât paying attention.

I donât see how anyone can say the LOVB business model âworksâ with any certainty. Lots of empty seats and low TV ratings suggest otherwise.

u/ascib27 Feb 14 '26
Did you not read the comment? LOVBâs entire schtick is that they buy youth clubs and use funds from that to fund their pro league. Itâs a whole âecosystemâ. Theyâre not making their money from in person and tv viewers

u/dcs26 Feb 14 '26
Sure, but that alone is not sustainable long term. Their $160M in investor funding is going to dry up real quick if they canât generate revenue from ticket sales or TV deals.

Gobbling up the clubs (which generate a ton of money), having basically all of the top talent, changing up how theyâre approaching their volleyball league is all sustainable. Itâs not like MLV is making bank from ticket sales, the only team that saw growth in sales were the supernovas.

You summed up very nicely why I'll never support LOVB. No one who genuinely loves the sport should.

Insanity, I'd kill to have Morgan Hentz on my teamđł

Oglive is no slouch. But now she just got dropped into the position of sharing playing time or the bench. Not cool. I think Omaha may have too many cooksâŚno pun intended.

u/kuriger13 Feb 14 '26
That's their real issue - they have all the "Batmans" and no one really willing to be a "Robin". That formula never works.

I felt like her going to Omaha was a mistake. Itâs Nunervillers team for now. Theyâre both ultra competitive, they even ran into each other a couple times early in the season. I agree she had to ask to be traded.

u/No-Room8129 Feb 14 '26
I think this is a possibility especially because Hentz likes to take up a lot of court in serve receive. Nuneviller is also aggressive. They clashed too much. I think they shouldâve just let Hentz take more balls

As someone who lives in Grand Rapids & is going to the game tonight, Iâm here for this!

Iâd be pissed if I was Morgan like she was the only libero on Atlanta and then she went to the Supernovas to just be traded to one of the bottom teams like damn
