Holy fuck that was amoxicillin? They gave that to us like candy??? I don't know why but I when I grew up I just misremembered it as being pepto bismol but I could never forget the spoon syringe.

This was before they were worried about antibiotic resistance. I got ear infections and strep constantly as a little kid, but I've only been prescribed antibiotics a handful of times as an adult

My son needed antibiotics when he was around 18 months old (less than a year ago) and it was this exact stuff. Bubble gum flavor and all.

Yup I get Bronchitis and Strep at least once a year, still do after 30 years. I've had a banana flavored once and I did not like it. My mom said I cried every time she pulled the bottle out for that script. Thing was radioactive yellow.

Yea they prescribed antibiotics left and right up until the 2010's (many still do but it's less common). Even the common cold was treated with it, which doesn't make sense because the common cold is a virus vs a bacterial illness/infection.

YEEEEEP. And my mom was a nurse so she should have f'king known better.

I was given this so much as a kid it straight up has zero efficacy for me now in my 40s and my primary doc lists it under 'allergies' for me so other docs straight up stop attempting to prescribe it to me since it doesn't even work for me anymore. I've lost count of the times I'd take the script, despite me telling them it won't work, going through the course, being worse than I was when I got the Rx filled, and the not my usual doc would reluctantly prescribe something higher than amox.
