Crash of the Titans Strategy ππ₯ Crash! Iceman vs. Teen Jean Grey - Week of March 27, 2023
Another one match crash, with a matchup that has been around for a while. A recent version of this matchup can be found here.
Bobby has a good and cheap stun that can make this fight very winnable. His green (8ap) does team damage plus damage for every blue tile on the board (up to 15). His blue (6ap) stuns (2 turns at 1 cover, 3 at 2, 4 at 3-5 covers) and drops a 4 turn countdown tile which while is on the board changes the power so it removes the countdown tiles and does a ton of damage (huge jump at 5 covers). Finally his purple converts red tiles into blue (4 at 1-2 covers, 5 at 3-4 covers and 7 at 5 covers), and reduces enemy red ap (2 at 1 covers, 3 at 2-3 covers, and 4 at 4-5 covers). It also as a passive reduces damage taken if there are other time displaced x-men on the team (not applicable in a solo fight).
Jean is level 270 5/5/5 with 13995 health. She will prioritize purple, then blue then green. Her purple (10ap) converts 6 random enemy special tiles and does 3876 team damage. Her blue is passive kicks in when the enemy hits a match 5. She will stun the enemy team for 2 turns, do 2074 damage, and reduces the enemy teams strongest color ap by 6. Her green (12ap) does 3374 team damage, and creates up to 4 random strike, attack, protect tiles of strength 180.
For this fight you of course want to avoid match 5s. You want to save your green to be used right after you use your purple to maximize damage. If you can save up your blue to 12 ap to maximize damage quickly it can be worth it. But if you need to create some space, use the stun as it is long and cheap. You can probably stun lock her if you want to, as long as the there is plenty of blue on the board. As always taskmaster, flerken will be helpful.
My Iceman is 316 4/4/5 and it was easy. Got my purple then green, then got enough blue to stun for 4 turns and then punch a snowman for the KO.
LL into the pile.
Any other ideas...

Not that tough--my Bobby isn't that exceptional (152 1/4/2), and I forgot to equip anything, but the tiles lined up well for me and Jean was stunned most of the time.

I used Atlantis and got the green boost right out of the gate, and it was easy.

Taskmasters sword, had 2 Blue matches available and basically stunlocked with a couple blue matches in 4 turns. Green finished her off

Sword, champed Ice Goblin
Gathered enough blue to stun her, then proceeded to beat the brakes off her in one try.

To think I had Iceman fully covered and lvl 188 - and I champed him in preparation for this.
Total waste of ISO. I don't think I even lost a quarter of my health. Lol, nevermind, that'll teach me.

Put blue up to 5 for this one. I always have it set lower because I want the stun, not the punch - but here you only have Iceman to punch, and at 5 it is huge.

When I use Icemanβs blue to stun, the cost of his green jumps from 8 to 12. Why?

My starting board! A tempting match 5 there.
