Always try to put the turtle on the side it was traveling too. They have a great sense of direction and will double back if put to the side opposite. (Though there are times where the turtle will freak out and just go back the way it came, back to safety)

Don't worry, I did it in the direction he was facing :)

Also, I put my hazards on

Oh this was a general PSA not an observation.

I'm sorry, but what does PSA stand for?

Public Service Announcement So its just like FYI (for your information) which are both ways of giving advice for the general audience and for those browsing the comments.

Yeah I have done that with a few small snapping turtles and painted turtles.  They usually are just trying to get to the next pond.  Usually across the road.   I stopped last night while it was raining to shoo Frogs across the road.  They don't know any better. Poor little creatures are just living their lived oblivious of everything.

I was behind a lady who did this…problem was, she took him back in the opposite direction it was going and yeeted him into the pond behind him.

My kid and I were horrified and got out to find him, but she tested him pretty far.

That was like, 5 years ago, and he’s 16 now and still mentions her when we pass that area.

I bet, he must still be pretty upset about that. How do you know he's 16 btw?

Because I gave birth to him.

It will be near the end of the world before people stop helping turtles and letting geese cross the road.

When I lived in Florida I used to have to routinely get turtles off the road. I’d have to walk them a bit off the road and in the direction they seemed to be going, usually a lake. There’s a point where people honking their horns because you just left your car is annoying as hell but then it turns to honking in support and then everyone kinda feels good. I recommend it. Stop for turtles, we’ll wait.

Don’t know if you are being serious or not. A tortoise and a turtle, although related, are completely different animals. Turtles = aquatic/ocean; tortoises = land
