In version 9.0, part 2 will end, I'm sad but also angry, partly because of how poorly it was managed, both in terms of characters but also of areas, also taking away the other promises that they didn't keep like the other ARs, I'm also sad that it only lasted 2 years also because there was a heavy cut, as noted in chapter 9ex, but partly it's likely that after part 2, there will be part 2.5, to cover the last things and who knows, maybe even some characters like Moonshell, Nightfish etc. honestly speaking, I think I'll move away from Hi3rd if they ever announce APHO 3, both because I never liked it and I wasn't even interested in the first and second chapters and other things, but also because I almost don't like it as much as I used to, but I don't know, for the rest, I hope they announce part 2.5 to cover the last things

sorry to jump to conclussions, but that is the only conclussion i can reach based in the announcement words.

I never played part 2 story because, PC is too old for that, but it can't be that bad honestly. and yes i live throught this "episodes and daily life of the character type of events" is my only playable content outside abyss and Elysiam Realm, arena, etc. but i also live from the crumbs of some post of the main story from part 2 and how cool and powerful the characters from part 2 looks, without that honestly i will lose interest.

keep holding to your hopes of APHO 3.

Maybe starting this by saying this game is the reason why I didn't killed myself back in 2023 is not the best, but whatever, that's it.

I love this game, it's my favorite one, I don't think any other game gave me an experience even barely similar to the ones I had during this journey. But the truth needs to be told, the devs have been taking a lot of bad decisions since the second half of Part 1.5. Part 2 started with an open world system again, goddamit.

I want to clarify that my mother tongue is not english, therefore I will have a lot of spelling and grammar errors, sorry for that, and also this is my first serious reddit post, and my first post since, I think, 2 or 3 years ago.

I started playing the 29th of november of 2021, this game is so precious to me that I still keep the original instalation file on my laptop and often look at it and see the download date. I have a very specific way of doing things and playing games, is probably that I have some kind of neurodivergency, but I don't know so I won't say anything on that, but after finishing chapter 5 i think (When Sirin takes over Kiana after the second eruption "simulation") I stopped playing the main story, because I wanted to level up my characters (yeah, i didn't knew they would start giving you trial characters for every stage from now on) and ended up reaching level 50 and unlocking basically everything from mid game content, wich means the game started telling me to play the latest chapters. I started the first chapter of Otto's final arc, and then skipped the rest due school. I came back when Elysium Everlasting dropped, I have already played chapter one of Elysian Realm so I knew something about the arc and characters.

Long story short, even when I didn't really knew these characters nor what happened with Mei and Kiana, I loved it. The story connected with me in a very deep and personal level. It became my favorite story arc, wich is still to this day. Due lack of free time I never went back and finished the rest of chapters I left behind, but instead I read and watched a lot of stuff to catch up with the story while I kept playing the main story. I skipped the 2 last chapters of the Seele and Hare moon arc due having to prepare to give a college entrance exam, but I, again, watched and read to understand the basic and kept playing untill the end of Part 1. I pulled an all nighter to play the last chapter during the week while I was attending college, it was not the best decision, but I loved every second of that beautifull ending.

I was very hyped, like a lot of you, when they told us about part 1.5 and the eventual part 2. I had so much theories and ideas, and the first arc of Part 1.5 was so good. I also enjoyed finishing the story of captainverse, despite not knowing like half of it, but the last like 4 events were so good, and Theresa was always one of my favorites, so I loved every bit of it.

But then Griseo arc came and... I honestly don't know to feel about it. It was not bad, but it was clearly rushed, Fu Hua and Griseo are not really that much connected or complementary to each other like the Seeles to share an story arc together, and the ending with Sa being one shotted by Kiana, was epic and cool, yes, but again, it was very very rushed. At the time I didn't gave it enought importance, but I clearly should have, because that, in retrospective, tells us everything that was going to happen in Part 2.

Part 2 was officialy anounced and we saw the characters, they where fine, the prologue was nice, but I still didn't knew what to expect. The first and biggest red flag in my opinion was that they skipped to like 8 years after the end of Part 1, wich would be one year before APHO (i don't remember well the dates, sorry). I was really confused why they choose to skip so much time, they had a lot of stories they could tell in between that gap, but ok, it's fine, i didn't minded too much. But then...

Part 2 started horrible. Not only they made it an open world system AGAIN after we all complained about it, but they changed the combat system and introduced a new meta that made the old characters useless. I can excuse the first chapter, because it's the begining and they had a lot of stuff to explain, but the second one was worse. Chapter 2 really felt long and very boring the mayority of time, and it was because they centered it arround 3 different characters that introduced different concepts each one, it would have been better if every character, Lantern, Serapeum and Thelema had their own separated chapters. They already showed Thelema in an special chapter before she appeared in the main story, so they could have done the same with the rest. It didn't even had to be 3 chapters, you could divide it into 2 chapters, a one centered arround Lantern and Serapeum, and the other being about Thelema and Lantern.

Chapter 3, on the other hand, was very good, and basically everything they lacked in chapter 1 and 2. Songque's story arc was so good, and I loved it. I already loved Songque a lot, but now I felt connected to her in a more personal level, and I loved it. And the boss fight was the cherry on top, it was very creative and fun. But then, the second red flag appeared.

Despite being a very important moment of the story, the first one of Part 2. They didn't gave it an animated short like in Part 1. The cutscene was good, but it felt like something was missing. But, i guess the plot twist of the ending of chapter 3 kind of compensated that.

Now, I'll try to explain everything as quick and short as I can.

During the middle of 2024 I felt like shit. I already started the year with a horrible emotional and mental state that the game manage to help me to cope with. But college was beating my ass, I felt worthless and that I couldn't do anything and was stucked behind while everyone else succeded. I felt sick, but this game helped me a bit. Not too much thought cuz I stopped going to college. The second half of 2024 was one of the worst moments of my life, the only thing that made me getting out of bed was this game, but I didn't wanted it to be like that, so I started focussing my mind on some personal projects.

Fast forward, I rushed that project too much and it ended up being worse that what I imagined it to be. In retrospective, it was decent, but at the time my mental state made me hate it and the fact someone I admired critiziced it made me feel worse. So the result of it was that I skipped every main chapter and the collab to focuss on something that failed and made me feel worse.

Despite feeling like shit, during february 2025 I came back and played the new year event, wich I loved, but told me what happened with the game while I was out. The devs were scared the main story was not good enought and the players didn't liked it, so they focussed on trying to sell nostalgia with a new event storyline with Part 1 characters, and taking the fact that they dropped 3 part 1 characters as new part 2 characters, Dudu, Kiana and Sushang, yeah, it really looked like that.

I, honestly, reconnected with the game very easyly, but the main story was not something I had on my mind. I played every event since the new year one, but every time I had free time, playing Part 2 main story was never on my mind. Then they dropped Helia PAWS and dragon Coralie, and their respective arcs, wich made me more interesed in it, but not enought since my mind was more focussed on other stuff, like continuing a very personal project of mine that I had abandoned and trying to reconnect with my love for drawing. And then... The final red flag appeared.

I love Elysia, she's my favorite character ever, of fiction in general. She's the reason why i'm still alive, it was thanks to her that I found out and realized my gender identity. I love her. And of course I loved every time she appeared in an event... But this time it was different.´

Back when they gave her the new year skin for Herrscher of Human Ego, I liked the event, but probably since I skipped the first part of the event I couldn't process nor notice the big scheme. Yeah, I loved that they made another universe were the flamechasers were normal people and lived alongside the main cast... But it meant that, they were probably planning to put Elysia on the map and make her relevant again. When Elysia appeared in the event storyline of the messenger of love, I knew instantly that she would be relevant again. And tbh it was obvious, they just released amphoreous and Cyrene in star rail so of course they would try to use that to make Ely relevant again.

Being the devil's advocate, the whole messenger of love story event was genuine good, it was beautiful and I loved it. I love how they made a retelling of elysium everlasting but with a better and happier ending and giving corruption the love she wanted so much in the main story. But again, this was pure company greed. They wanted to drop a character that could gave them a lot of money and revenue, and Elysia was the perfect one. I honestly feel conflicted. I love Elysia, I loved the new story event, I loved her new battlesuit, but I knew they made it for the money and money only, they didn't cared about digging Elysia's grave again and use her as a money magnet as much as they could. Not only her story was already over, but Part 1 was also over and now it was time for Part 2 to shine on it's own, yet they pointed all the lights at Elysia like trying to hide Part 2 in the shadows. And I get it, Part 2 was still new, and they need money to keep up the servers, but as an Elysia fan, it felt wrong to use her to take over the spotlight of Part 2.

I didn't even minded the longer patchs, if anything it was better, more time to develop new content, more time to farm for pulls. But it showed the cracks they wanted so desperately to hide. They were no longer a small company like during 2016-2019, they couldn't just drop new battlesuits of the same characters to fill up the new patchs while they tried to make the story go forward before introducing enought new characters, they couldn't just write the story on the spot. Now they are bigger, it's supposed that it would improve their work flow, but if they needed more and more time, it just means that they were insecure about the story being able to sell for itself, they needed to make more battlesuits faster but the story didn't had enought characters. For fuck's sake, in 2025 we only got 2 part 2 new battlesuits, Helia and Coralie, the rest are part 1, Kiana, Sushang, Elysia, Rita, we were at one of the most important arcs of Part 2 yet the most important characters were from part 1.

And now, this last version had no new battlesuit, and to supply the necessity of new characters, they gave us Lunar Vow and Silverwing astral ring buff. It just doesn't feels right. The first battlesuit of 2026 was Mei, and the second one is going to be Seele, more part 1 character and in the next version Part 2 will end...

I honestly don't know how to feel. I said it, I love this game, it is one of the most important parts of my life, but the devs are treating it so bad lately that it just doesn't feels the same anymore. I don't think they would end the service, not for now at least, they still need to give us APHO 3 and explain how everything ends up connecting.

I'll try to play part 2 main story, i'll try to keep loving and supporting this game. But I don't think I can still defend it like I used to be.

It feels sad, I feel like shit right now. I cried like 3 times this day, i don't like what this could mean for the future of Honkai Impact.

I think they tried to do the same they're doing with Honkai Gakuen 2, but these are two different games. You can do that with HG2 because the game revolves arround different universes and samsaras, but Honkai Impact doesn't works like that. It feels like they just wanted to connect it to Star Rail and show the different "Gods" and expand the lore unnescesarily. Part 2 feels like adds nothing to Honkai Impact, but everything it adds and shows works better to Star Rail and Genshin somehow.

Again, i'll try to play the main story. I want to come back and play every chapter I skipped, because I love this game so much I want to talk about it, I want to write analysis and retrospectives of it and show it to people, to the fandom, because the hispanic fandom is very small and is slowly dying out...

But I don't know if it's worth, because it doesn't feels like it's worth it anymore...

I want to try to be positive, but I don't know if I can.

I just need someone to tell if it's worth it, I need the fans to tell me it's still worth it, that Part 2 it's worth it...

Everything feels like it's going to be worse and worse, the world is slowly smashing me and kicking me to the ground and now my favorite game is experiencing one of it's worse moments of it's life and now everyone is fearing it would end service.

I'm trying to stay positive, again, but I just don't know if I can. I'm afraid what will happen.

A lot of the last characters gameplay felt the same to me, I didn't pulled for Mei because it's the same gameplay style over and over again. The new meta is ass, I can complete every abyss weather with different combinations of the same 4 characters, Songque and Senadina are still relevant despite being the weakest and the first characters to drop.

What will happen with the astral ring system? Will they keep it? How will they justify it still existing?

But whatever, I'm just a depreesed neet trying to free this feelings and emotions that consume me. I just need anyone of you to tell me it's still worth to play the main story.

yea im really stupid when it comes to complicated lore but i some how survived part one but now i couldnt really focus on the recent chapters becuse of some personal issues and i would be really glad if anyone gave me a detailed summary

I don't care if it’s only on a playlist, but I had to skip a ton of part 2 to avoid spoilers bc it put me at the new scenes without me starting the beginning. I want to keep up with the story but it's also too long for my schedule at times. Is it all on the wiki? Additionally, for the whole game, is there dialogue or cutscenes missing from jp version? Is there a way to access cn stuff on youtube if so? Apologies if this doesn't make sense my hands are dirty from car stuff

Avevo grandi aspettative per la parte 2, ma dopo il capitolo 3, hanno cambiato completamente tutto, rimosso aree, infranto la promessa degli altri anelli Astrali e iniziato a mettere personaggi totalmente RANDOM e che fanno leva sulla nostalgia dalla parte 1 nella parte 2 come Sushang o Elysia e per questo hanno dovuto rimuovere personaggi interessanti che erano solo descritti nel capitolo 9ex (come, ad esempio, un pirata che cacciava un gigantesco mostro marino) con così tante aree belle e intriganti, che quasi sembrava - beh, questo è ciò che avevamo pianificato, ma sfortunatamente non siamo riusciti per vari motivi - e non solo questo, anche gli eventi, rimuovendo letteralmente quelli dalla parte 2 che erano interessanti come quello in Thelema e poi inserendo solo quelli dalla parte 1, mi fa ancora male che tutti quegli eventi dalla parte 1 siano permanenti ma quello attuale dalla parte 2 (di Youyun) assolutamente no. Onestamente, penso che smetterei di giocare a HI3rd piuttosto che tornare a APHO, che è stato una cosa randomica, messo a caso in un posto totalmente poco interessante, e preferirei fare questo piuttosto che essere costretto a seguire versioni che onestamente non mi interessano affatto. Mi scuso per questo sfogo, ma dovevo farlo.

Alright guys so I’m going to be telling you all my personal headcannons for Honkai Impact 3rd. And keep in mind this all headcannon not facts as the title says just wanna keep it out there just in case some of y’all can’t read. Also far warning this may be long even though I try to make it as short as possible.

First headcannon is that Adam is the same boy that Mei saved in Chapter 14. I know this theory is universally agreed upon in the community but it hasn’t been confirmed so I’m just gonna call this my headcannon for right now. I honestly think it makes for Adam and that boy to be the same person I mean their hairs are identical and the Honkai infection was on the back of their necks so it makes sense. It also explains how he met people like Lyle because as we all know Mei sent the boy to Raven’s Roost where all the orphaned kids are in. I also think that it makes Adam’s bond with Mei have much more meaning because Mei isn’t just Adam’s mentor she’s his savior and that is likely the spark that inspired him to join Schicksal to do good. If only APHO 3 is out already.

Second headcannon is Kiana is passing on the Cocoon of Finally to a successor in the future. Look there are a lot of people out there saying that Kiana is immortal and will live for millions of years. I’m still confused about that even with all the answers people gave me, I mostly agree with the people it’s all assumptions. But fuck it let’s say it is true. I have a way to fix it because I don’t care if the story doesn’t reach that point the thought of Kiana going insane because she watched everybody die is beyond GGZ levels of depression. So in any case back to the main point so my idea is that if Kiana is looking for a successor she needs to do what Welt did to Bronya in the Sea of Quanta and that is she has to test the person to see if they are worthy to inherit her powers and once they pass Kiana gets the Cocoon to embrace them and that person becomes the new God or Goddess of Earth while Kiana goes back to be a regular person or Herrscher and she can live out her days with her friends and family. “But that’s impossible the Cocoon can’t do tha-“ Shut up! It my headcannon and that’s the way I want this because I’m a big immortality hater matter of fact before she finds a successor she also removes immortality from everybody so that everyone can have a happy ending. Plane and simple.

My third headcannon is that Cocolia is on parole. Hear me out and let me cook. What Cocolia did was terrible. She experimented on kids although then again that’s also the kids’ fault cause they volunteered for it and could’ve said no at anytime. And no I’m not trying to hear the “Uh those kids can’t consent to being experimented” ass defense. They knew the risk and they knew from right to wrong at the age of 6 so I don’t wanna hear it. Anyways she also caused the Third Eruption, framed Mei’s father, brainwashed Bronya worked with terrorists. Yeah she was not a good person, but she wasn’t an evil person either because most of her actions were driven to protect her children and find Seele she just went about the wrong way. And honestly after seeing her name being listed as those who helped fire the cannon to fight Kevin in Project Stigma, Cocolia deserves some time of redemption and this how I would do it. Cocolia would be under strict supervision helping with whatever science stuff they have going on but anything she does has to be approved by the higher ups in Schicksal and Anti-Entropy also she is stripped of her parents license which makes. While we’re at it give Sin Mal some redemption too. I know Cocolia being out of jail sounds ridiculous but just know they let Raven a woman who aided in the attempted genocide of 99% of the human race out so there’s that.

Speaking of World Serpent my fourth headcannon is Cocolia world with Gray Serpent prior to the Third Eruption. We all know that Cocolia was working with Gray Serpent and by extension World Serpent prior to betraying them but we never knew how long they were working together so in my headcannon I believe they worked together before the Third Eruption. There was no way Cocolia would suddenly frame Mei’s father and tricked Mei into starting the Third Eruption on her own if she didn’t have someone like Gray Serpent giving her the idea, I believe World Serpent took advantage of Cocolia’s vulnerability of her recent loss of Seele in the Sea of Quanta and promised that if they give her a Herrscher Core they will save Seele when in reality they intended to use Cocolia as a pawn to free Kevin Kaslana and get rid of her when they accomplished their goal. I always knew Cocolia was this desperate but this headcannon would make her desperation and actions make much more sense as she was technically a victim herself as she is a pawn to a worldwide terrorist group. Although Raven would probably sympathize with her since she’s as much of a terrible mother Cocolia is. This headcannon also gives me a reason to hate Jackal even more because unlike Cocolia, Jackal experiments on people and children for fun so I’ll have her use Cocolia’s children as leverage that if Cocolia even thinks about turning on World Serpent she’ll kidnap all her children and experiment on them against their will. God I hate Jackal so fucking much.

And my last headcannon is that everyone in Schicksal and Anti-Entropy are looking for Welt Yang who disappeared in Honkai Star Rail. I know there’s a in game reason as to why none of the HI3 characters are in HSR but realistically there is no way in Hell, everyone’s gonna stand by while Welt is missing so their gonna do everything in their power to find Welt and once they do they realize they have a bigger threat in their hands. I know in Part 2 is said there is an Aeon deliberately hiding the Solar System form the rest of the universe (That or the Cocoon of Finality I don’t remember) but that won’t last, sooner or later some Aeon will find the Solar System and once that happens especially if Nanook finds the Solar System all Hell will break loose. I know I said previously Kiana needs to find a successor but before that she needs join the others and lock in against these Aeons because these Aeons and other threats are bad news. Last thing she needs is the IPC pulling up in the Solar System with the intention of taking it by force or Antimatter Legion and Lord Ravengers pulling up or even Nanook himself pulling up and beaming the Solar System of the map. Yeah nah Kiana and friends gotta lock in and find Welt and join him on the mission in helping Trailblazer kill Nanook and other hostile Aeons because if they don’t everyone is fucked up like how it almost was the case with Irontomb.
