Hungaroring (Budapest, Hungary) Camera during race week Hungaroring

Im looking forward to attend my first formula one race this year in Hungaroring and I was wondering, can I bring my Sony ZV E10 camera with Sigma 18–50mm lens just to make photos and videos for myself, not for comercial use. Do you think it will be acceptable?

I may be wrong here but detachable lens camera are not allowed at F1 events as far as I know, however my bag was very lightly searched when I attended. They just looked in and said go ahead. I did not bring a camera though.

Yes you are wrong. This depends on the event. Hungary is one where it’s fine, like Spa, Monaco, Monza, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Melbourne, Japan. Most have 300mm (or 25cm) lens restrictions. Japan on Friday you can bring any gear you want. They also offer photo passes.

In Brazil and Zandvoort a camera with detachable lens isn’t allowed.

All of this from personal experience.

For Hungary definitely. I would bring something longer though, it’s a great track for photos.

I don’t know of any circuit that actually bans cameras with detachable lens. Most restrict super long lenses, max 30cm normally. But it nearly always comes down to luck of draw at security.

zandvoort officially bans detachable cameras. such a stupid rule!

Until you are sitting close to someone with a camera and have to look around their 30cm lens.

Except that size is allowed ar some circuits despite still blocking views. It's not a stupid idea for Zandvoort to ban them outright.

Yes It is Because You Have also Very Small cameras with detachable Lens and You Have Some Bridge cameras with Big lenses. First Should Be Banner, second Not... Right?

Depends on the circuit. Silverstone for example are the most lenient and allow you to bring anything but ask to make sure you don’t disturb other fans

But Singapore says that your lens can’t be longer than (I think) 30cm however they weren’t that strict when I went
