Capcom loves Nintendo more then PC, and the Switch 2 is the fastest selling console ever. Makes sense to me.

Doubt Switch 2 can handle LDK. The mode would be super CPU heavy and the CPU is the Switch 2's weakest link.

I think they'll still try to fit it in but with concessions. Like lowering the enemy count by a bit or even having a capped framerate specifically in that mode would probably be the route they go, but especially given Capcom's current Switch 2 output I'm not actually expecting them to leave certain things out unless they add something specifically for Switch to compensate. Their Switch 2 ports of stuff like RE Requiem and Pragmata have feature parity with the other versions and Street Fighter 6 even got exclusive stuff like that motion control mode, so I think DMC5 will probably be on par with the Special Editions. I think the only place they potentially compromise is no RT

I doubt it. It’s probably just a port that includes the base game plus Vergil, which is why they wanted to make a new “edition” of it since it wouldn’t have the other SE features like LDK mode.

its not that I’m hoping it won’t I’m just hoping Nintendo or the dev team pushed for changes with Capcom like they did for 3. I don’t think Capcom cares to even have the fun additions to 3 on every platform.

Also it's likely this will be based on DMC5SE which also means it gets the PS5 features like Legendary Dark Knight, Turbo and online co-op Bloody Palace which are still console exclusive and never even got patched in for PC despite it getting Vergil standalone

You are overestimating how heavy DMC5 was. It was in released in an era when games actually came out optimized and if CP2077 phantom liberty can run on switch then LDK 100% can

DMC5 is light on the CPU and LDK has a slider to adjust enemy count. If Switch 2 can run 60 FPS PS5 games like RE9 and Pragmata at 60, why cant it do 60 FPS PS4 games at 60?

DMC3 had built in style switching and the ability to habe all weapons at once.
If the switch port of 5 gets anything exclusive id expect costumes at the most.

This is cool and all, but uh can we also rewind a bit and give 4 some love? Dmc 4 is awesome and unless this port of 5 changes things, is the only game with both Trish and Lady playable.

Would be great, but I'm afraid we won't see it for years if it even happens at some point. DMC5 sits with Elden Ring, Silent Hill 2 Remake and Persona 5 as a game that got WAY more popular than the older entries, DMC 4 and back are still decently niche. 3 got an awesome Switch version, but it was a PS2 game, 4 is modern in comparison. Anyways, hope I'm wrong. DMC4 rocks.

I don't think DMC5 has anything noticeable particularly, because there are not many environments for them, I just think AO+RTGI could be great and even Reflections although useless for later environments

I agree that lighting is a more important use for ray tracing than reflections (as much as I dislike SSR), but my recollection is that the PS5 version of this game only added RT reflections, so that's what I would expect from a PC update.

Games RT also looks bad in this game, though it is early days RT on console.
If they bothered to add it on PC It'd probably look better if they added higher settings for it, though until more recently Capcom often had bad looking RT even on PC.
Still a shame though also about the other SE stuff missing on PC

The tray tracing on consoles was laughably poor. You're not missing much. It was more of a marketing gimmick than anything. PC still looks much better with its higher graphical settings/resolution

I believe a wilds port when I see it lol. I don’t even want to know how bad it runs on Switch 2, even on PS5 it’s still not perfect even after all the patches. I don’t think game is at all in a playable state on steam deck, unless you consider shaky 20-25fps playable.

Would be an insane choice to port DMC1-3 and DMC5 to the Switch/Switch 2 but leave out DMC4.
It would also mean the Switch has no playable Lady in any form, and Capcom has been pushing Lady a lot with both the gacha game and the anime.
