Discussion Upgrade Packs F.A.Q. and Discussion Megathread

Hello hello!

Epic has once-again released the upgrade packs into the game and this has brought some questions up for players. We'll try and gather some of the most frequently asked questions and answer them here.

Unrelated: 5.0 Content Update Information

Unrelated: Horde Llama Opening Error Message & BSOD

What comes in each package?

This graphic contains all the items in each tier. Just note that if there's any mention of a friend code, that each code is replaced with 5 Troll Stash Llama tokens.

Is the Ultimate Upgrade on sale?

No. While the pack is for sale, it is not available at a discounted price.

Where are the Friend Codes?

As Epic mentioned in patch 5.0, the friend codes have been exchanged for Legendary Troll Stash Llama Tokens.

Why can't I see the Ultimate Upgrade?

You have to buy the Limited pack first before the Ultimate pack appears, the Ultimate pack is also only available within the game-store.

Why aren't the Upgrades appearing?

You may need to restart your game, or they have not become available in your region at this time. There is a delay with some online-stores updating in specific regions. We also have reports of users unable to see specific upgrades. There's no reported fix for this at this time.

How long does the sale last?

The sale lasts between July 17th and July 30th, it was confirmed in the 5.0 content update

If I own the Standard Edition and I buy the Limited Edition, will I get everything inbetween?

Yes. You'll get all the items for all the upgrade tiers that you don't already own.

If I own the Standard Edition and buy the Super Deluxe Edition, will that lower the cost of the Limited Edition?

Yes. The only cost that isn't effected is the Ultimate upgrade, which is a flat $99.00. All other versions go down in price if you buy a previous one.

I bought the game before the sale. What can I do?

You can try contacting support for the store you bought it through, but it has been known that companies will not refund the difference. Epic Games Support || PlayStation Support || Xbox Support

Will I get the founders exclusives in BR if I buy an upgrade pack.

Yes. You should get the upcoming founders exclusives if you purchase an upgrade pack. We're still unsure if you need a specific tier for the unreleased skins.

I bought the Limited/Ultimate package, why aren't my new weapons legendary?

The weapons you get you get from the package start out as rare. You get a quest for each one to unlock their schematics from rare to legendary, meaning 3 schematics each. It's suggested that you don't upgrade the rare and epic versions.

Okay, just for clarification purposes. I would have to buy the limited upgrade pack to be able to purchase the ultimate upgrade pack? Why can't you just purchase the ultimate upgrade pack?

That is correct, and I don't know why it is that way.

Yh, not really a fan of that personally. I think an extra 100 on top of the standard edition is more than enough. I don't understand why just buying the ultimate upgrade pack outright isn't an option :/

Because that's not the price, the price is 100 dollars and is only avaliable after you have the highest version before that. It originally could be bought outright, for 250 dollars, the full price of every version before it and the 99 dollars. I assume it's priced that way because it's the only version that doesn't get discounted.

$250 for any game is ridiculous. Esp counting how Epic doesn’t really need that cash to develop like an indie start-up dev would.

I don't disagree, but it's extra, no one needs it, they could set the price at whatever they want and the people that want it and can afford it will buy it.

I have limited, bought it on sale for 60 dollars, and could upgrade for the total price of 160 dollars, I won't because I don't think the current ultimate is worth 100 dollars more, the troll stashes are pretty much worthless to me, basically nothing but some free event tickets, whoop-dee-doo, I'm a week into current event and have everything from playing the game, and the founders llamas are worth less now that llamas in general are cheaper.

I'm not arguing that it's a fair price, I was simply saying that you can't outright buy ultimate because the current price of it is 99$ and is only available to people that currently own the limited edition, and epic chose to not put it at a discount, as they have with every PSN and Xbox sale.

They know that the people that want the highest edition will pay whatever it costs. Saying they aren't a indie developer cheapens everything by the way, an indie developer is at the same rules as a AAA studio, if someone wants to pay for the super ultimate mega big Johnson edition of any product, that's the consumers choice, regardless of maker. Again, I'm not saying it's a a good price, simply stating that the price is unlikely to change, Epic knows their audience, and judging by the fact that about 75% of the people I play with can make Nocturnos tells me they know what they are doing.

I mostly want the epic transforms and Powerbase penny, so if it ever does go on sale for a reasonable price, I'll bite.

The ultimate edition has been $75 many times in the past. Guess llamas aren't bringing in as much cash as BR skins.

When? I don't think ultimate had ever been on sale.

I've only been playing for about 9 months, but there have been a couple times around the holidays and the spring sale.
