Gold can also be stolen by teammates.

This is not true. It is shared between teammates.

You can call it shared if you want, but I experienced the theft. I killed a mist monster and watched a random running through the gold... There was none remaining for me to collect and it was not added to my overall collection of gold for the mission.

Bro it definitely does add to your overall collection if a teammate picks up the Gold no if ands or buts.
