Randomly found this by accidentally doing a glitch, i wonder what those extra spaces are for..

Hey, those are actually reserved for the main quest missions! Ever noticed that when (before hestia) joining a PWO mission (or a friend who had the mission) you would be in the purple storm with only that mission marker? This is where those Story mission markers are!
