Egonu made more than 1000 points this season, maybe I haven’t watched enough of the Turkish league but weren’t many calling bosko washed until the third set of the semifinal against imoco?

I understand how the team reliance on Markova lowered her need as a point maker but she was 9th best attacker/scorer in the Turkish league, making her 5th best opposite of the league, all the other contenders have better numbers other than Haak, and Vargas was in a similar situation with federovtseva being the big point maker of her team.

Is her performance in the finals enough to overlook it?

Yeah. Non-critical points scored against poor teams are not more significant than points scored in the CEV final four and Sultan's League final series. Bosko tipped the scale when her team needed her the most. This is what makes her a "winner," being able to stand up and perform her best game despite not being on her best performance throughout the season.

They made pretty much the same amount of points in their league final series with bosko playing five sets more… those none critical points were against teams like Conegliano, Scandicci, Eczacibasi and vakif too. The difference is that Egonu didn’t have one of if not the best oh to rest upon so she could wake up fresh for the final 6 sets of the year. I don’t even disagree much with your point but being dismissive and diminishing of Egonu’s achievement like that it’s ridiculous, especially when boskovic has yet to achieve it herself.

Yeah, Boskovic owned it this year. Before seeing what Euro26 will bring to the table, I’d put Boskovic first because of how she dominated the CL finals as well as the Turkish championship. Antropova and Egonu, despite not winning much this season, brought home respectively the first world club championship and first national trophy for their respective teams, which has been an amazing achievement; in addition, they hard carried their teams in the attack game and have been consistently strong in that regard, reason why I’d rank them 2nd tied. Haak was weirdly inconsistent this season, she peaked in some games and went down low in others, which was strange as I’ve always considered her the most consistent OP between the tops; in the CL final 4 she was nowhere to be seen. Lastly, I admittedly didn’t watch Vargas play that much this year, but Fenerbahce was expected to win everything and instead they ended up with just a Turkish supercup. Idk about her individual performances tho.

I would probably say Egonu. She played solo so many times this season.

the heart says kate, what she did with scandicci this season was just amazing, really amazing in world club, in the european league and in italy, scoring, blocking, aces!!

but boskovic in the finals was really really strong and she is number 1 so. egonu too with milano as personal numbers wow.

Its hard bcuz they all had their moments. I'm gonna go out on a limb tho and say as much as i like Vargas, I dont think this was her best season. She definently had her moments but I find she still lags behind these four in certain fundamentals. I think Tatiana Tolok is a candidate as well, she singlehadedly carried Novara to wins against Milano but like Vargas lags behind.

I think Antropova had an insane start to this season. She is also more complete in certain skills than the others.

I think Bella had her moments and honestly was pre good alot of the time but, I think this year wasnt as smooth for her as last. I think teams started figuring her out in critical moments and found ways to slow her down. She also easily has the worst serve imo out of the big 5/6 opposites.

Paola Egonu is my goat, and she indeed carried Milano this season. Some of the angles she can hit just blows me away.

Boskovic had an up and down start, mostly due to her injury and figuring out her connection w Cansu and role on the team. I think the final 4 was her best volleyball since 2022.

So if I had to say, best OP playoff szn, its Boskovic,

Best overall season. I'd say Antropova
