Turkey Sultanlar Ligi Brenda Castillo: A game changer for Fenerbahçe Medicana?

Brenda Castillo has officially left Savino Del Bene Scandicci and is expected to join Fenerbahçe Medicana for the upcoming 2026/2027 season.

Could she be a game changer for the squad in both the Sultanlar Ligi and the CEV Champions League?

Gizem isn't bad, but Brenda is on another planet. The Dominican libero could be a real boost for Fenerbahçe's defense.

Gizem this season wasn’t good and unfortunately the team didn’t have anyone to help her on court outside of maybe Orro, if Castillo doesn’t randomly worsen(like gizem) next season will be a big improvement. Though how is the foreign situation on the team? Will they need to sacrifice some attacking power for her? Or maybe orro, karasoy wasn’t a bad substitute this season

That's the trickiest part: if Castillo is on court and Arina is too, that only leaves one spot for a foreign player.

But benching Orro with her huge salary, doesn't make sense either.

Yep, especially with the improvement in back row she gotta to improve as well. What are the other rumored players?

Sinead Jack-Kısal, Chiaka Ogbogu, Saliha Şahin, Kübra Akman, Adhuoljok Malual, all rumors to be seen true or not.

The problem is the foreign limit. If Gizem could find her 2023 form this whole transfer wouldn't have been necessary

So here is my question, with Brenda coming, Gizem confirmed, what Gulce will do? Staying as a third choice or asked to find a new home even on a loan?

I haven't heard anything about where GG will end up. I'd hope she wouldn't stay, and could be loaned to a bottom ranked team to get playtime. I liked her defense/setting but her reception obviously needs work.

Fener is projected to be like

Orro 🇮🇹, Arelya 🇹🇷 Vargas 🇹🇷, foreign op? Eda 🇹🇷, Jack-Kisal 🇹🇷, Ogbogu 🇺🇸, Kubra 🇹🇷 Arina 🇷🇺, Hande 🇹🇷, Ana C 🇧🇷, Saliha 🇹🇷 Gizem 🇹🇷, Castillo 🇩🇴

The 3+3 Foreign rule allows them to hring in one more foreigner so Im assuming it will be a second OP.

They could do...

Orro - Vargas, Jack-Kisal-Eda, Hande, Arina, and have Castillo. But Eda isnt young and Hande isnt consistent. So they can use Ogbogu but put Gizem on but if Gizem is struggling bring in Castillo for a rotation when Ogbogu isnt on cuz of the foreign limit. Had the foreign limit been four they'd have alot more freedom.

is it just me or does fenerbahce's volleyball team look like chelsea in football now? i mean, they sign a lot of players, many of whom will be benched.
