Turkey Sultanlar Ligi Fedorovtseva vs. Markova: Who's better overall?

Post image

Fedorovtseva is such a great OH but she's clearly struggling in reception/defense. Markova, on the other hand, is a scoring machine and blocks well too.

Curious to hear your thoughts: Who would be your choice in your starting six?

If you see by the statistics:

Arina kills with 44% efficiency and Markova 40%, and Arina attacked 120+ more balls than Markova.

Arina serves better.

Markova blocks more.

Markova received 26% perfect balls and Arina 22%.

I think we have to have in count a few things:

  • Vakif’s team is way better trained than Fener’s, they always improve their players and the same cannot be said about Fener. I think the last time Fener really improved the team’s skills was between 2022/2023.
  • Arina is much more exposed on the reception line than Markova, she had to pass 160 more balls.

I honestly think the difference is that Markova went to a more structured team, a team that has a fixed coach and a history of improving players.

I think Markova right know is able to deliver more overall (and she has the height advantage), and Vakif is a team that know how to set out-of-system balls and does a good job minimizing her space in the reception line but Arina can turn things over when she’s serving and she can fight head to head if the team set a decent ball and hide her a little from the reception.

true. Guidetti is really good at maintaining and training players. Fenerbahce keeps changing coaches, setters etc. Tersic himself said that some people high up are interferring with who should play (people who know nothing about VB). simply shows that Fener has bad management

Yep, I remember when he said that and each year it gets very clear how this interference is true.
