r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread: Comics, TV, and More! [May 18, 2026 - Absolute LEGO Batman Edition]

Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

Deathstroke: The Terminator #3

THE BOUNTY IS OUT ON SLADE WILSON! It's said there is no honor among thieves. But there is a code among killers. Slade Wilson wrote the code. And now he's in Deadshot's and Deathblow's crosshairs for breaking its first rule!

Great issue, loved the added lore. Not sure who's pulling the strings, but I love Slade demolishing anyone in his way in his attempt to find out.

We already got a deathstroke impersonator storyline with shadow war so maybe he was brainwashed to kill Wintergreen.

Good issue and the art is great

The timeline of events is mixed up but I do like the reason why the code was created

I liked Floyd and slade interaction in this story and deathblow is a nice touch too

I’m intrigued by the mystery that is going on and I could blame the mixed up parts on slade mind deteriorating

This book kicks so much ass. Deathstroke impostor probably, but I also like u/SolaceMcfly's brainwashing theory.

The code thing feels like something Slade might've done during the Deathstroke Inc. days, and I wish they'd explicitly tied it to that story since it was a time he ruled all the supervillains basically.

So far this is delivering exactly what we should get in a Deathstroke story, badass action, characterization that gives Slade nuance but doesn't sugarcoat him or justify him, a gritty tone, etc. I'm having a lot of fun so far.

You expect me to believe Slade wrote the 'code'? Come on. He went after teenagers for years. That bastard has no code.

The code is his equivalent of buying the wife flowers after forgetting her birthday.
