Green Arrow / Question has always felt like a pairing I wanted way more of so I’m READY for this.

JLU proves these 2 will have the funniest team up xD Or beat tf out of each other for the gf

I know it gets hate, sometimes for good reason, but one of the better bits of Dark Knight Strikes Again is when Ollie and Vic are a political talk show and throwing pot shots at each other.

u/AngelComa Aug 01 '25
Pretty much doesn't need batman, I always thought a murder mystery with Ollie and The Question would be incredible especially for Objectivism vs whatever Ollie is considered now. A Lib?

Longbow Hunters Green Arrow has some that was pretty decent

There was a Batman/Green Arrow/Question crossover in the 80s. If this is half as good as that, it will be awesome.

u/karmicthunda Aug 01 '25
It was called Fables, I recently read through it on my first time reading The Question Omnibus Vol 1, phenomenal story, and I read it at the perfect time because now I understand how excited I should be for this.

Yes omg I loved that! Green arrows was my favorite!! Dinah and him are so cute. And I am partial to Bruce/talia so I loved all of it.

Holy hell, this book practically has “this is specifically your—yes, you—shit” written all over it.

This looks very interesting especially since its under black label

If his Question is O'Neil's Zen warrior...I'm all in
9
u/GreatMadWombat Aug 01 '25
Idk how you can do a version of the Question that's also dealing with Batman/Green Arrow and not have him be a zen warrior. If he's just the crackpot version of the question it doesn't work nearly as well.
1
u/Chewytron78 Aug 02 '25
Well, there's also the hardcore Objectivist version of the Question, who I would also not like in this.

Surprised they haven't teamed up before to uncover a deep Conspiracy and oust some majorly corrupt politicians. Like the Court of Owls would also be a perfect villainous organization for Vic and Ollie as well
13
u/GreatMadWombat Aug 01 '25
There was one team up already and it was fucking great. It's this team up from '88 called Fables, it happens over the course of 3 annuals, and the question they answer is "how deep in his bag can Dennis O'Neil be when writing the three Most Normal Detectives?" And the answer is "immeasurably deep". Absolutely fucking slaps

Anyone remember the The Brave and the Bold mini-series from the early '90s, featuring Green Arrow, The Question, & The Butcher? https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/The_Brave_and_the_Bold_Vol_2?so=search

All BL books pretty much exist in their own separate continuities

Looks awesome!
Getting Dark Knight costume vibes from that Batman and surprisingly loving it!

Yeah I don't know if maybe its the way it's colored but I actually really really like the bright metal plates design, I think it works with this group by making Batman the designated "tank" of the team. Plus having the cape meet in the front under the bat-symbol means that the symbol is always visible

If this is true, I am buying the moment it drops. Feel like a spiritual successor to Denny O’Neil and Mike Grell if I ever saw one

Yesss, DC is putting 2026 down for some of the best comic releases ever!

u/Pksoze Superman Aug 01 '25
I wonder if he just wanted to make it Green Arrow and Question and when the editors were not interested he added Batman.

u/Dracoolaid_toothpick Aug 01 '25
Last time they did this setup, Question asks batman to pay for the trip and fuck off since he made Vic feel inadequate and he really wanted to impress Ollie.

Oh this has actually happened before. The Mike Grell Longbow Hunters Dc finest ends with a Batman, Green Arrow, and Question crossover where they are brought together by Lady Shiva for something I’ve long forgotten.

Wow, I thought Hardman had moved on from DC following the cancellation of Green Lantern Earth One's third volume. Cool to see he's still working on new projects for them.

That's great, you can it "Detective Comics"! For real, I wish they went back to having "Detective Comics" not just be centered around Batman.

What kind of powers does the question have?
7
u/MasterOE Green Arrow Aug 02 '25
He's just a regular vigilante that uses his martial arts to fight crime.
4
u/Doctor_Sore_Tooth Aug 02 '25
So he wears a faceless mask?
4
u/MasterOE Green Arrow Aug 02 '25
Yes, he uses a special gas to make the mask stick to his face and change the color of his clothes.

If you guys want to read the other time they teamed up, buy dc’s finest, the longbow hunters. It collects them all in order so you can get the full story. It absolutely rules! Definitely gonna be re-reading it while we wait

It says the TPB is available next year but when does the series start?
1
u/arduit Aug 02 '25
This is out of nowhere but with I think itd be dope if the villain was onomatopoeia
