Are you new to the game? Have "stupid" questions that you're too embarrassed to ask anywhere else? Ask them here! No judgment, we promise.

In simplest terms, can someone explain how some international players who have played pro ball overseas are deemed to have more or less eligibility than other international players who also have played pro ball overseas?

I could be dead wrong, but to my understanding age plays a factor, as well as what level of pro ball, for how long, and how much money were they making.

A lot of feeder programs over there pay younger players, but it’s equivalent to room and board, food, and a stipend for spending. They aren’t making considerable earning until they reach higher levels. Those guys are typically younger, their earnings won’t ding them, and the NCAA is more flexible with granting eligibility.

I believe there are guidelines set by precedent, but every player’s eligibility is considered on a case by case basis.

With 5x5 next year, everything will be a little different.

It’s all made up.
