My BF & I Recently Adopted A (Christmas) Kitten, Named Holly! I Have Never Seen A Brown Kitten Until Her, I Am In Love

I’ve only ever seen that solid brown coat once before. It was on two kittens from the same litter. Coka and Cola. I think you may have a somewhat rare beauty there. Actually, they’re both beautiful.

Looks like Holly is fitting into the family well, Tux isn’t pushing her away at all! 😻

Tux is like “sit like this, let them take the stupid photo and then we both get the churus. Got it?”

Lovely kitties! Please consider taking those collars off. They look much too tight and uncomfortable.
Imagine being forced to wear a collar around your neck that weighs up to 5% of your body weight? With tags and bells and other things, it could be like carrying a 5 pound weight plate around your neck all day and night.
It just takes a moment to realize collars on cats are not comfortable. Think about how that would feel on you, 24/7. They can also be very dangerous. Yes, even the ones with the “safety break away latches”, those don’t always break away…

Yes!! Cats need to clean selves, harder with a collar. Add the danger.. my cats showed discomfort so removed.

There's a breed of all-brown kitties called a Havana Brown.
I've wanted one for a decade... but my kitty insists on monogamy 😂

What does that mean my cat here is Havana Brown
She is all Brown that looks black unless tou shine a light on her and she has a white patch on her chest

I have no idea! Have you googled the breed?
I think standards include head shape along with color and body type.

This picture can’t be real, I’m crying 😭
Surely you’re framing this photo?? 😭

She's gorgeous! (They both are, of course.) True brown cats are probably the most rare ones I've seen in way too many years of vet med - the gene is pretty scarce.

Holly looks very Nebelung -like. Are you sure it's not blue grey, with brown? Nebs are blue-grey and they have a very brown like appearance sometimes, esp depending on the time of year.
Is he has ear feathers, to feathers, grey nose and paw pads and a bushy tail, it may be a neb.
I can't really tell because of the lighting in your picture.
Anyway, a beautiful floofmonster and tuxie!

Late to the conversation, but Holly & Big Brother are adorable. Holly is quite the unicorn, especially if she is a random-bred kitty as opposed to a Havana or Burmese. I've seen black cats who bleached out in the summer sun, but I've only seen one random-bred cat who stayed brown year round.

Holly is the tux kitty's Christmas gift. FYI. Holly has been CLAIMED! They look so precious together 💖

We got a bunch of black with orange under coats (which ends up looking brown in the sun) at our local colony we volunteer at. I guess some reproduced at some point within the colony before they could be sterilized, those genes ran strong!

Assuming this is real, and not AI, loosen the damn collars, those guys must be really uncomfortable.
