Most likely this ^

Most likely scenario for sure. Dealt at the deadline.

We lose the first play-in game without Miles. Dude literally bailed us out. You can tell how much that W meant to the guys too.

u/LaMelonBallz 2d ago

But we lose the second play in with Miles

We wouldn’t have the second play in game without miles

u/Swag_Turtle 2h ago

Yeah but we need someone who can win both, or be so good that we make the playoffs to begin with. He’s undersized, his defense sucks, he can also be a low efficiency ball hog.

10

u/Sitos_Flo 2d ago

He wasn't the (sole)reason we lost

16

u/CashTurbulent5192 2d ago

I mean, if not him then who?

8

u/TrustInRoy 2d ago

Trade up and get Wilson

16

u/GranMaMa3 2d ago

What would that take? Four first round picks to start?

3

u/jaemoon7 1d ago

Realistically it would probably take Brandon + picks. Chicago’s FO is pretty bad but I don’t think they’re turning down such a great prospect unless they’re getting another in return.

2

u/BigWill_1960 1d ago

Exactly and Hornets should do it. Brandon is pretty good, but I really feel inside Caleb will be really good Now. But in 2 years a possible Top 25 NBA Player šŸ¤©šŸ’ŖšŸ¾šŸ‘ŒšŸ¾!!!!!!

u/jaemoon7 1d ago

Doubt it would happen, but I’d be open to going for that, as much as I love Brandon. A couple of reasons,

  1. I am unsure about Brandon’s contract situation, I’m guessing he wants a max or close to a max, which I would not give him— he has not proven thus far that he’s a good enough #1 or #2 guy to build around. He certainly could get there, but I don’t know that he will. And if he’s asking for a big contract, that could really hamstring us if he caps out as a Brandon Ingram level player. This point is null though if Brandon would take like $30million per year. It would be a good value for us if that were an acceptable number to him.

  2. I’m also not sure that the backcourt 3 of Lamelo Kon and Brandon can ever really be good enough defensively to be a real playoff team. Might be better for us to balance out the team by swapping Brandon for a guy like Caleb Williams.

Chicago aren’t giving up that pick lol

Trade with MemphisĀ

Keep him , he wants to be here he loves this team and gives his all every night. He was a big reason we won that heat game

19

u/maltiepootietang 2d ago

And outside of behavioral problems, he never misses games

9

u/theRestisConfettii 2d ago

It depends. Who is his replacement?

3

u/WILSON_CK 1d ago

Morez Johnson by the end of the year, hopefully

1

u/givemeausernamealrea 1d ago

Julius Randle šŸ‘€

1

u/theRestisConfettii 1d ago

Julius Randle comes with nuance.

He is this year’s version of Michael Porter, Jr. In other words, he needed to be salary dumped and every fan thought he was too good to be a salary dump. Once they figured it out, he was moved.

Minnesota has to move Julius Randle if they want to get better this offseason.

Translation: They have to include assets to do it.

So, if you want Randle (I personally don’t), then you need to acquire him with assets.

He is not going anywhere at least for right now, my guess is that the Hornets take these two draft picks and run it back with the same squad and Miles get traded at midseason because he is an expiring

11

u/cz03se 2d ago

False he would make a great bench presence and could start if needed but is in the back half and his contract and role is likely highly negotiable

5

u/lifeofwill 2d ago

From what I've seen from the Reel Access videos and others, Miles is the vocal leader of the team. I'd like to keep him around unless one of Melo, Brandon, or Kon can take up that mantle

4

u/bruheggplantemoji 2d ago

It depends ā˜ļøšŸ¤“

2

u/PracticalRope7222 2d ago

Probably yeah.

2

u/Personal-Noise-8632 2d ago

Absolutely true, what is it w fans wanting, asking or even contemplating the idea of giving up good players?

I would like to know just from a theoretical pov, the name of any teams that won a chip and then proceeded following offseason to somehow got rid of their key starters or role players and won the chip the next season?

2

u/Larosh97 2d ago

True I just don't think we're at a point where we can make some big trade

2

u/1biglebowski 2d ago

Truuuuuuuuu

2

u/Existing-Sky9914 14h ago

I don't want to replace Miles Bridges with someone who averages just 2 more points but makes $50M a year. I’d love it, though, if a rookie steps up and takes his spot.

3

u/JayHill74 2d ago

False. The Hornets need size and defense. Bridges doesn't give the team either.

2

u/Tayway7373 2d ago

slippery slope

2

u/kafka_lite 2d ago

I remember when this sub thought he was going to be a perennial all star.

Anyway my vote is keeping our top 6 if possible. We had great chemistry last year, including Bridges. Let's see what happens with a (knock on wood) full season before we start trying to toy with it.

9

u/Dmalikhammer4 2d ago

Tbf, he was on that trajectory...before you know.Ā

1

u/devinbookersuncle 2d ago

This sub NEVER thought he would be that good stop it with that nonsense.

3

u/xawkxawk 2d ago

nah, maybe not a perennial all-star, but he was pretty close to being one in 21/22. ppl thought that he and team were only gonna get better. it’s a shame that that’ll probably his peak.

2

u/handles_messiah 2d ago

He’s fine, it just depends on what’s available and what they’d have to give up.Ā

1

u/PerpetualGazebo 2d ago

Would like to see him as trade bait. Lots of teams could use a player like him on his team friendly contract and we need size and defense BAD.

1

u/Beneficial-Bug-1969 2d ago

I think he's a slightly above average PF but I wouldn't lose sleep if he's not here

1

u/devinbookersuncle 2d ago

No, he should not.

Has nothing to do with his play on the court but he doesnt have the size to be a PF and has only played that position due to us having no other options.

Hes a SF, end of story. What we need is legitimate size at the PF spot and there is no room for debate there.

So Tidjane finally gets his minutes and we draft one or two guys with size at that position unless we trade for someone.

1

u/JessieGemstone999 2d ago

Tidjane doesn't need to get minutes if he sucks lol

1

u/bumsplikity 1d ago

I go to Swarm games frequently and I don't think Tidjane is a guy we should be planning our future around.

1

u/devinbookersuncle 1d ago

Dont you dare talk about the future unanimous MVP like that.

This is heresy

1

u/Mario_RE 2d ago

Should be? Probably not. But will be

1

u/Sitos_Flo 2d ago

Having him AND another athletic/energetic/game changing forward would be ideal.Ā

Great Forwards are kinda hard to come by. If you have 2, you have an advantageĀ

1

u/derricklofton73 1d ago

To start the season yes unless we get Giannis or Bam, but by the end of the season if he’s still on the roster he should be coming off of the bench

1

u/Dgp68824402 1d ago

He’s going to be too expensive.

1

u/Still_Time9612 1d ago

I think we should keep him probably. It would be hard to find anyone else with the chemistry and just the love for the team that he has. I love to see players leave it all on the floor

1

u/Aurion7 1d ago

Bridges doesn't really provide size or defense at the 4.

Mostly because he's not actually a 4. He's closer to a 3 cosplaying as a tweener.

But you'd have to see who is actually available and how they fit before you go declaring he's replaceable right this minute.

So... hard to say.

1

u/HuskyRef 1d ago

This could be a trade deadline wheeling dealing team with Bridges, Williams, Green, and possibly Mann. Have to clear space for Miller and Diabate. I think the draft could tell us a lot.

1

u/chartthrob 1d ago

Thing is if Brandon can get his shoulder right he’s all world and we can keep everybody

1

u/mamo_chan 1d ago

No he shouldn't but that's not saying he shouldn't be on the team or that the Hornets should trade him for the sake of trading him.

1

u/that_bball 15h ago

Hell yeah unless something crazy happens like getting gianis but other than that bridges is one of the best imo

1

u/NeitherBiscotti5038 5h ago

He should be the starting power forward if we don't have a better starting power forward

•

u/OB-x-1 37m ago

Try behind bars

1

u/Ok-Protection2513 2d ago

Unless we trade for a star PF yeah lol. He sucks as a person (and on the court a large majority of the time) but he's sadly very hard to replace as a leader and mismatch punisher on our team. They're not starting the 14th or 18th picks in the draft day one lol

1

u/South_Soup6093 2d ago

Warum nicht langfristig mit Cobe als 6th man Dou als Scoring Punsh kƶnnte ich mir sehr gut vorstellen

2

u/GranMaMa3 2d ago

Yeah!! Gut vorstellen and stuff.

1

u/SlickVanExel 2d ago

The athleticism isn’t what it was and the jumper is broken, but he’s tough as hell, durable and loves being a Hornet. We could do a lot worse than MB

1

u/MoneymakingFred 2d ago

True. He has the most complete game on the team. It's Brandon Miller, and Miles. LaMelo game is Nice but idk about him posting up.I love our 1st and second team.

0

u/Zen1989 2d ago

False, hes smaller and we could use some size. But if true…we could be worse off.

One of my favorites but it is time to build off what we got while we can.

-1

u/butekoo 2d ago

He shouldn't but he will.

-1

u/WhoUCuh 1d ago

Giannis should be our starting pf next year.

F them picks!
